???

Some of you act like Buzz and Dale are being held hostage and are being forced to go out on tour.

They're going to probably make some new fans and make some money.  AND we're getting a chance to see them again.

Some people will bitch about anything and everything.

I don't post a lot but I've been ghost reading on this forum for almost five years now.  (and it's the only forum I've looked at since the official Ipecac one closed)

I've come to the conclusion that as a true Melvins fanboy at heart living in the American South I was:

a.)  the only one "here" that was REALLY excited about this bill, as a fan of both Melvins and Down (sporting a Pantera shirt as I type)

b.)  the only one "here" that truly "gets it"... I mean come on guys, Buzz deciding to open for a Phil Anselmo-led band for their 25th anniversary tour... FUCKING CLASSIC MOVE

c.)  the only one thinking that the Melvins, without question, SHOULD BE the openers on a bill like this (Weedeater playing first of course)

Lastly:  a tour was supposed to come to fruition with Weedeater, Hank III, and Down earlier this year, it was actually announced... and now it's Weedeater, Melvins and Down.  You see?  You can play all sorts of "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" type shit there and win in the first move.  And Hank isn't playing in Europe until August 21 so yeah, expect all sorts of whiskey-drenched surprises on this tour.
Read this and learn. This guy knows the truth.

looks like it's about time for a new poop thread :?

Melvins and Weedeater sounds great to me.  I haven't really heard Down yet so I can't comment on them.  But as long as there's no booing or douchy behaviour or whatnot I don't have a problem with it.  Stuff like this just really annoys me.  Just imagine they'd tour with Bullet for my Valentine or something similar.. then I'd understand all the bitching and fighting.. High on Fire did that once and it just sucked. But anyways, I agree, it's more money for the Melvins which is always a good thing.  The only problem I'd have is that the Melvins wouldn't play as long as usual;  but hell, they probably won't tour Europe anyway so I might as well quit hoping...

Have you seen the bridge?  I ain't seen the bridge!  Where's that confounded bridge?!

as much as I ain't a down fan...
the more I think about this the more I see the pro's.

another melvins/biz/porn tour would have reeked of stagnation.

my still-standing gripe though: the venues.    500 or less capacity clubs.. HIGHLY unlikely.
I'm thinking 1500 to 2000 capacity theaters.   I'll pay the extra coin but to see the MELVINS behind a sea of sweaty, hairy, beating-the-fuck-out-each-other moshers as opposed to seeing my own reflection in Buzz's new guitar doesn't do much for me.
yet at the same time something tells me the buildings will be upside-down and it will be kinda fun.

WHILE THERE'S MOSHING AT DOWN SHOWS, I THINK YOU'RE OVERESTIMATING HOW BAD IT WILL BE.  I CAN'T THINK OF A DOWN SHOW I'VE BEEN TO IN RECENT MEMORY WHERE THE MOSHING HAS REALLY BEEN ALL THAT BAD.

I just read over that thread at the DOWN message board that bUTTHOLEmAN posted.

now I feel all guilty and shit.

my apologies to down fans.   in classic cynical sarcastic MELVINS fan fashion we've ripped them and their band pretty bad.  they seem to have a much more open minded approach.    I've decided to readjust my stance and back off with the digs until I actually see this band.  honestly.. I am not horribly familiar with down's music besides a song here and a song there.     I welcome all DOWN fans.      except bigfil38. :)

oh,  and this guy.  who posted this on the down message board:

I was listeing to eggnog before ANYBODY fucking knew who the melvins were....
like 1991
they fucking suck......
puke
I hate that band now really not a band cause they get new bass players every five minutes..
they fucking come out on stage wearing capes for gods sake....
I think we should all head over to that board and start educating the retarded masses....
that music sucks...
it had its place back in the day but holy shit why did they stay so popular?
crap pure fucking crap
down is gonna blow these weirdos right off the stage....
and congrats to the melvins for finally getting to play in front of a big crowd...
buzzo needs to thank the band for the holy interaction

this guy I want to buy a beer.

Capes.

I just wanna see some dates. If they play here I'll be happy. Last time I saw Down here the crowd was decent, as decent as you can get in this town that is. I even was able to get up front close to the stage with no troubles.

I could accept all down fans at some point, but i'll never accept anselhomo as being anything less than a total asshole.  me and many others feel cheated by his influence on what was a good friend and a cool guy.
Judy is mad.🤣

If they play, they play. If they play and they don't play anywhere near Lousiville, I'll be shit. How good was the crowd for the Melvins set at Headliner's in 2003?

They'll still be playing the Showbox regardless so I don't really care about this wrinkle.
