I'm actually more tempted to pass on this because of the venue than the other bands.  Worst sound of ANY venue in Seattle.

If they are playing Nokia in NYC, ticket prices will probably be around $45.00 or so. That may be too rich for my unemployed blood at the moment.

I do love to see rawking shows on 9/11 though... my own way to comemorate...

Just checked ticketmaster's website - $35.00 tix @ nokia (with, like a $9.00 ticketmaster service fee). I just about hit it on the button...

I can probably get them at the box office w/o the service fee though...

I can relate this now because it's on the Down site:

more possible shows:

Get right up front.....receive the amps and drums blast....one doesn't need the P.A. anyway up front.
the show box is fine? melvins sounded great that one night. or is the showbox SoDo a different venue?

Woo, thanks Hawkins.  Has anyone here been to the Wiltern before?  Any big difference between floor tickets and pit tickets?  Loge tickets?  What's security like?

Showbox is one of the best sounding venues in Seattle.  Showbox SoDo/The Phoenix/The Premier is the bottom of the barrel.  They have an awesome McCauley PA rig in there, and it's a complete waste, 'cause you couldn't design a room to have worse acoustics.  It's all reflective surfaces and right angles which equates to bad echo and standing waves.  Turns everything to mud.  Even if you are right up front, the standing waves coming from behind you are still gonna make everything sound like mud.  I've run monitors in there before and even from up on stage that place sounds bad.
