I don't know Crybaby, I was in a record store today and saw a 'JKo2' sealed copy
and it was definitely warped. :?...maybe they were released at the same time ?

what i am thinking is that they have just printed new covers on heavier cardboard stock and used the "not-so-bad-warped" vinyl from the 1st pressing... my record is not warped...

From what I have come to understand,  these days....

EVEN if something recorded on an analog Reel to reel (open reel) makes it to the Record store in vinyl format...It still has gone through some digital mastering or has been taken out of it's true analog purity...what is the point of having something DIGITALLY mastered to VINYL?

I mean, maybe in the states this is not true, but well Canada...hey it's a miracle you can even BUY melvins here...period.

I will argue that yes digital may sound 100 times cleaner and so fourth, but I like the gritty cheap low end pressings from the amrep days.

I can't put my finger on it, but I feel I'm being ripped off...it seems releasing something on vinyl now a days is some kind of backwards record company scheme to make more money...it's like a format hijacking...yes, It's a vinyl, but it's not the same in my opinion...records DID make some kind of come back, I've seen a lot of dopey kids blow their parent's money on NEW pressed records at SAMS' that I had to DIG for a million years ago..and payed less than a buck for...these kids will spend like 0ver 30 bucks for a stinking vinyl..and it's sealed yes...180 gram, yes...but It's REMASTERED digitally...is it just me or am I broke and missing something here?
anyone? I mean..ok...so what does steve albini have to say on the matter?

I try to collect melvins on cassette...or cd, or vinyl..whatever..I mean It's the melvins..it doesn't really matter in that case what it's on..

but for the sake of absolution...is it true?

What you said is partially true.  Quite a few new vinyl pressings ARE digital, and in some cases 100% digital, but there are also some all analogue pressings out there (mostly re-issues.  quite often it will be noted on a sticker on the front).  The problem is that MOST of the time, at some point during the recording process, there is a digital step, but in most cases, the digital part is handled in 24bit, so even when put to vinyl, it is still higher fidelity than a 16 bit cd.

As a side note, all the copies I recieved of Nude With Boots "JK02" at my shop also apear to be warped.
Another side note, I can't remember who said it earlier, but it wasn't Golden's fault.  He is the guy who cut the master of the record.  The record is pressed by United, but keep in mind, records can also warp in transportation, and warehousing.
