I have it. Not that great, but it make for a great collection item. I think the artwork suck but the liner note are good.
The song are not great but are not really bad either. Some have catchy riff.
I'm sure it will get old fast and it will not grow in me like normal melvins album.

QuoteFor the most part, these are not great songs. But they're not BAD either. Just sort of formulaic. And there are some instant classics in there that you definitely gotta hear at some point - "Forgotten Principles," "The Real You" and a couple of the symbol-titled songs are totally killer anonymous speedball tunes that would have sounded great on the old WREK punk rock show I listened to every week when I was 16. And the whole project was just a good idea. It still doesn't answer the question, "Where the hell did Gluey Porch Treatments come from?" (In fact, it makes it even HARDER to understand!) But it's nice to know that, like many of us, Buzz Osborne began his musical career as a normal punk rock kid trying to imitate his favorite bands. Wouldn't you feel like a complete loser if the first thing he wrote after picking up a guitar was "Eye Flys"?

It's all fucking good-dini as far as I'm concerned. Then again, I'd eat a MELVINS deep fried turd. GO MELVINS!!

This disc is a must have. I like the "audio documentary" feel to it with the commentary. Amazing that they were playing this fast with the hardcore punk influence, and within 3 yrs they slowed it down and got even heavier on Gluey Porch Treatments.

What's up with the "proper" front/back cover art? I thought Buzz said all future Melvins CDs were going to have the front/back reversed because you can fit more of the cover art on the back of the case. Either way, awesome liner notes and Mackie art as usual.

Bryan

I like when the dopey radio host says "some good punk rock.  Puuunk rock!"

Tyuge

my favorite part of the cd is the "during practice" thing where they're just sitting around talking and calling each other "fuck-faces" and what not.i especially love this part: "you stupid shit, he didn't really throw up in that bottle" "he didnt?" "no, you believed me?" "yeah" "well did you drink out of it?" "yeah" (or something like that)

Moldy

Not bad, definitely a good look into the Melvins before the addition of Dale Crover. I'm definately into the good ol' thrashy three-chord punk of the good ol' days...it's almost hard to believe that they would end up becoming one of the most inventive bands in the history of...well....anything!

Oh, and the dialogue between the band on track 17 is hilarious!

One problem though...I noticed that the last two tracks have nothing on them...is that my disc, or is it the Melvins' way of fucking with me, or what?

Kurdt is back on track with his hairy band Metal Church. Accoring to the tour-plan they are playing festivals and gigs in Europe at the same time as Fantomas, and according to the pictures Mr Kurdt is no small guy, feminine but quite solid. Maybe Buzz will be looking over his shoulders before and after shows?

Kurdt is the bald guy next to the even more gay-looking mustache-boy on the first picture. In fact they all look quite homo-erotic, as in fact every heavy-band does. Rob Halford is not alone!
