Buzz's guitar sounded unusually great I thought.

I thought Buzz's guitar always sounded great?

Oh it does, don't get me wrong. It's just that I thought it sounded extra great on Monday night. I'm not sure why, but it really stood out.

NYCTaper definitely recorded the shows, they were in center of the balcony with a whole mic system set up.

I'm more of a fan of the band as a 3 piece as well, but these last two shows were two of the best concerts I've ever seen. They were totally amazing. After 17 or 18 Melvins shows, they continue to blow me away.

Just got back upstate.. HOLY CRAP!!! Both nights were incredible.. Every set had a different appeal. 1st night set 1 was probably my favorite.. pure sludge.. slow.. Loud!! and HEAVY.

Houdini was abstract genius.. The second half was stunning

Second night..

Bullhead was soo great Opened with Levidity one of my favorites.

Stoner witch was fantastic At The Stake KILLED as we all know it can.. I really like the way they re-arranged all the tracks  Opening every set with the slow stuff to build up the mood.. Really worked the crowd went Nuts when they kicked in.

Stage divers almost kicked over the Mic stands a few times toward the end of Stoner Witch.. Dale told them to 'Stay off the Fuckin stage'

The closing drum chaos was stunning it seemed to go on forever.. and that was just fine with me  :D

He said something more after that, but I couldn't understand him.  Anyone catch it?

What I think he said was "if you want to get on the stage use the stairs"  I was laughing...

Was a strange sexual vibe to this show.  There were these 3 chicks in front of me doing blow and then going apeshit.  Don't think they heard any of these records before judging by how they were pumping their fists.  Chicks running the pit.  Balls out baby.   The duel drumming and mammoth tone will get anyone frisky.  I had a boner...

..Melvins delivered.

Anyone know who joined in the drum throwdown at the end of the Stoner Witch set?  I wasn't at the show but a friend said there was a third drummer up there and he thought he heard Coady yell for "Danny", maybe...?

yeah. that was fuckin crazy. First Jared helps throw a guy off the stage! It happened like 3 times, and with the kits so close, the person(S) were hitting the mic stands and kit. Person got up there a 3rd time for a launch, then Jared pushes them off!!!
Then Dales says, STAY OFF THE STAGE!

And who was the third guest drummer guy who came on during the end of Tues night? That was KILLER. I think dale said it was Billy?

Dale was going NUTS... He walked behind coady, starting hitting on some stuff back there, then he goes back to the other guys side, and Dale starts hitting a crash with TWO drum sticks in EACH hand!!!!

I thought mondays close was awesome!
Tuesdays drum close was EASILY 20 minutes, Buzz and Jared were LONG gone!

She speaks good English and she invites you up into her room."

3rd drummer was vinny from unsane...

My favorite part of the two nights was Dale doing the drill instructor vocals on Joan of Arc on Monday.
He stands up, starts pointing at everyone in the stage!!
"C'mon you knuckleheads, MOVE IT, MOVE IT"
Totally awesome!!

Yes, the "third drummer" was  Vinnie Signorelli,  Foetus/Swans/Unsane,  who completed last night's drum circle. Can't decide which night I liked better, they were amazing both nights, but I still prefer them as a three piece and hope they, one day, lose the appendage. In attendance: Brian Posehn, Nick Zinner (Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs), Mick Collins (Gories/Dirtbombs), Chris Spencer (Unsane) and Paul Erickson (Hammerhead/VAZ).

So now I know who the third drummer was.  He definitely seemed too good to be a roadie or something.

Both nights were great, I guess my energy level was a little higher the first night.  I didn't sing along much the second night for whatever reason.  Charmicarmicat was a hell of an opener.  I was totally waiting for Exorcism the second night but some dude fell on my head and distracted me during the middle of it.  I was kind of surprised anyone tried getting on the stage given the slight amount of room between the drums and the edge.

Anyone at these shows should know Dale and Coady are beasts on the drums - you get a whole different appreciation seeing them up close and personal (at least I do).  The shows definitely revolve around them, I think.  Or maybe that's just because I usually end up watching them 90% of the time.

Did anyone else hear about a June 18 show in NYC?  Maybe that's the Trevor Dunn thing?  Someone told me they were playing somewhere but I can't find any info online about anything then.

Chris Spencer (Unsane)
Pete Shore (unsane) was also there.

Met Tara McPherson at the Cotton Candy Machine. It goes without saying that she is one cool girl. Actually everyone there was pretty awesome.
