this album is in heavy rotation for me, once again.
is this the first known recording of Buzz Osborne swearing it up known to man?

"fuck you and your feelings, you can eat them til you starve" - from 'Starve Already/Pigskin' 7"

"That's it... that's it, fuckers." from Hostile Ambient Takeover, which predates Starve Already a bit. Although it's technically Dale, they're pretty much the same person, right? The earliest recording of Buzzo swearing songfully is probably one of the bootlegs from when Buzzo yelled "BITCH!" in Oven for some reason.

Dead Cowboy

ManWithNoName

I love this album. One of the best of the kevin era.

Idlehanz

I get back into this bitch every few months.  Seeing Buzz, Dale and DSS do POTRE on the Jello tour was a highlight.  I can't wait to get moved and throw the vinyl on my record player.

I'm kind of new to this forum and not sure if this has been discussed before, but does anyone know, or has anyone speculated about which guitar parts are played by Adam Jones on this album? I'm guessing the long guitar solo at the end of "Pink Pat" is Jones, the tone is very Toolish, kind of like the solos in "10,000 days". Possibly the solos on "Bloated Pope"?, but those are most likely Buzzo.

I think this album is pretty amazing. I hadn't listened to it in a long time, but I've been playing it lately and am really blown away. Atmospheric and heavy at the same time.

Just for sh*ts and giggles, this is the track order I've been running:

1. pink bat
2. zzzz best
3. safety third
4. III
5. the bloated pope
6. toadi acceleratio
7. pigs of the roman empire
8. idolatrous apostate

Doesn't he swear on track 2 of his solo cd? He also says shit on that song on Stag, the mellow one, is it Black Bock? Sounds about right.
Hail, not fail.
PS:  fuck him.

molotov

Long, viscous,  tractile album with aggressive flashes. I love it.

This CD and HAT are kevin's legacy

norecess

Why POTRE and HAT, and not, let's say, The Maggot?

Please, don't forget The Bootlicker. What would The Bootlicker be without the bass.
Everything was beautiful, and nothing hurt.

Centripetal core of soul sojourn the field vibrates to absolution. I climb toward the sun to breathe the universal.

Have you seen the bridge?  I ain't seen the bridge!  Where's that confounded bridge?!
