you're probably right. I always wanted to see david join melvins and big business on stage. That would be explosive. Hell it doesnt matter I just hope some form of the melvins rolls through texas soon! Im taking it that Hold It In is going to be a pretty different kind of album like buzz has stated, its practically a melvins/butthole surfers album, or a melvins album with heavy undertones of butthole surfers... I dont know! The suspense is killing me I want to hear it already! It will be exciting to hear what pinkus and leary bring to the table

The only time I've seen DSS on stage with the Melvins was right after Kevin was kicked out of the band and DSS was filling in on Bass (and solo Electric wire).  After that I heard (only rumors of course) he and Buzz had some sort of falling out.

I've heard from a reliable source (someone who played w. 'em both) that it's no rumor ... that was a few years back ... maybe they patched things up ... then again maybe not.

Yeah, DSS on second guitar on the 2x4 tour was cool and he played bass on the Jelvins tour in 2005.

I don't know. Maybe if it was just Pinkus recording but I have a feeling that with Paul this might be one of the more weirder albums. Either way I can't wait!

Last AUSTIN SHOW on 'the Books' for the rest of the year, right now. Bobby and Pinkus will be out and about til at least Mid - November.
Finishin the next HONKY disc as well as tourin is what's in store. Bobby Ed's got some Down dates and looks like J.D. Pinkus will torture folks on his So Low and High solo tour and then a Melvins run, w dates soon to be released. The tour based around the release date of the (the) Melvins 'Hold It In' L.P. recorded with Buzz, Dale, Pinkus, and Paul Leary. More details on all to come soon......

the recording is only half the melvins and two fifths of the butthole surfers.  they seems really happy with it and it is over 56 mins of music!

LOS ANGELES, July 29, 2014 -The Melvins return with Hold It In, their first studio album as a quartet since 2010's The Bride Screams Murder, on Oct. 14.

Joining Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover for the 12-song outing are Butthole Surfers' guitar player Paul Leary and bass player JD Pinkus. Hold It In was recorded in both Los Angeles and Austin earlier this year.

"Hold It In is a refreshing piece of fiction in a boring world of fact and bullsh*t," said Osborne. "Paul is one of the best guitar players I have ever heard and Pinkus has an outside the box type of approach to both guitar and bass that you just have to let it ride. I can't believe this actually happened. I'm thrilled."

"It's very rare you get a chance to work with three folks from the 'Break A Wish' foundation, all at the same time," said Pinkus. "I believe they'll remember their experience with me forever (or until they finally all lose their fight with S.I.D.S)."

The Melvins kick off a round of U.S. tour dates on Oct. 15 in Sacramento at Assembly, which also includes a performance at this year's Voodoo Experience in New Orleans. Osborne, Crover and Pinkus will be the touring roster for this run of dates.

Crover temporarily joins OFF! for the band's August tour.
