Staples, Office Max/ Depot, Best Buy (if they still exist), pawn shops, thrift stores, yard sales, Goodwill, Salvation Army, any heroin addicts that might be selling everything they own........um, that's all i got.

Oh yeah! Give us some reviews asap. Imagine dozens of nerds, just sitting in front of their computers. Yeah that's it, that's exactly what it is.  :facepalm:

What if I made videos and posted my reviews? It might take me a bit to get thru them but I could try, I currently have all of them in my possession, I'm deciding not to do overtime tonight to try and discover and process some of this stuff. Let me know what I should get next!

For my money, you've done plenty to become a Melvins fan. Just get a feel for the albums you've got. That will give you a feel for which way to go next. The main difference between different eras of the Melvins music is obviously the bass player that happened to be filling that spot at the time.

Here's what you got, so far;
Glued Porch Treatments/
Ozma
Lysol
Houdini
Stoner Witch
Stag
(A) Senile Animal
Nude With Boots
Freak Puke
Tres Cabrones

Here's an elaborate and confusing system, to categorize albums by bassist. Going backwards, if you like;

(A) Senile Animal
Nude With Boots
Then you get;

The Bride Screamed Murder (same hard edge as first two albums with Big Business, but about half ___the album is experimental, or LITE Melvins)
The Bulls And The Bees ep (free download)

_________

Have to splice in the Kevin Rutmanis era here.

The Maggot (their heaviest album ever, in my opinion)
The Bootlicker (their softest album ever. See a pattern ?)
The Crybaby (Every track features a guest vocalist, lots of different genres, lots of        ___experimentation)
Hostile Ambient Takeover (one of the most beloved albums by the board. A combination of the ___trilogy, plus lots of other stuff)
Pigs Of The Roman Empire (guest producer was into noise. Lots of experimentation. Even more        ___than the trilogy and HAT-combined)

________

Mark D era

Stoner Witch
Stag

Then you get;
Honky (another very experimental album)

__________

Lorax (Lori Black) era

Houdini (she's credited on the album, now the band says she was not on it)
Eggnog (20 minute ep. Some really rocking shit, yet very non-linear metal music)
Bullhead (This is it. The hands down favorite of the majority of Melvins fans. For all time.
___Production-wise, it sounds like mud. Has never been remastered. Only available from Boner
___Records, so it plays at a lower volume than almost anything else they have ever done.
Ozma (notice the production on this one. The production on Bullhead is the exact opposite. This is ___one of the most raging debate topics on the board)

_____

Joe Preston era (Lorax left for a while)
Lysol (6 song ep. 31 minutes. 4 covers. A board favorite.)

Joe Preston Solo Album (not the fan favorite, on the board)

________

Matt Lukin era
Gluey Porch Treatments (not my thing, I don't feel qualified to discuss it, ask Fart Lips!)
8, 10, 26 Songs (see GPT)
Mangled Demos From 83 (see GPT)

Meezer doesn't like Gluey Porch Treatments.  :shock: That album is amazing.

 :lol: I'm giving it a chance. I just don't find it to be their greatest work ever. I like Ozma,  Lysol, & Bullhead better. Oh, and the solo albums.

the die was cast w/ Gluey Porch; everything else is just a variation on that form ... awesome, beautiful, and honed variations for sure; but Gluey is the form from which it all springs and spews to life.

I guess so. I'm not floored by the level of musicianship, compared to Ozma and so forth. I'm digging a deeper hole here, aren't I? Didja see the love I showeth for Kevin, MA?  :wink:

Joe was on Lysol and Lorax was on Bullhead.

Most of Lysol isn't a cover album either.
Buttholeman is a power tripping emotional abuser.  He censors my posts and says I need mental health help.  He's a jerk.  Please don't listen to him.  People DO love and respect your opinions.  I'm one of those people.  I love you. PM me if you're stressed.
