I think you are right. Im sure if co-vid hadn't hit, the album would have come out last year instead. Maintaining at least a 2 year gap.

And yet they've put out two solo albums, four or five collab EPs, a solo EP, a live concert stream, and some truly killer re-releases and merch. We are a lucky bunch.

yeah, it's a cover. to be honest it doesn't change my opinion about it. i think the Beach Boys parody was probably ok, this was not necessary though

Someone on the video called it "dad rock", im not familiar with the original but songs like this from them do seriously make me wonder. I don't hate the song. It's catchy and i had it stuck in my head this afternoon. But from Melvins i expect something much better than this. It's times like this when i hear these types of songs that make me wonder if the band are really as awesome as i like to think they are.

I think Melvins need to ditch the covers for a bit and concentrate on a collection of tight, rocking, great songs. I mean, (A)SA doesn't have a single cover song on it and it's awesome!

There's a tier of Melvins covers by which I judge all the others. Green Manalishi, Sacrifice, Lexicon Devil, Youth of America, Jerkin Krokus.

The next tier has most of Sausages, HAT B Sides, PAT, Crybaby, Kiss covers, Flipper covers, etc.

Then there's this one and a few other classic rock and novelty tunes that really don't do much for me. Oh well.
