question is ..... is this like House Of Gasoline being left off of Hold It In? and will there be a 10" on AmRep that acts as a supplemental release? and will that have tasty bonus tracks?

Something i like to muse over from time to time is whether we would have had this album if the pandemic had never happened. We know Working With God was planned before Covid and they finished recording when they could after the virus hit. But this album feels like a gift from that time. Something that only came about and emerged in the long form that it is, because the band had an unusually long amount of free time. Back in 2019 they did that tram video where the band played Edgar The Elephant acoustic plus did a few little low key shows either fully or semi acoustic and those things make me think an all acoustic version of Melvins was probably always going to come around at some point. But i am so curious to wonder what would have happened if the pandemic never occurred. I kinda feel like Five Legged Dog wouldn't exist and im really glad it does.

There's a few songs i would have personally swapped out but on the whole yes, it's a great record!

yeah, i think the experimental side of the band comes out a lot on this album, especially how they worked on the vocals, and some studio tricks are great too. it's like the full thing got a "Bootlicker" vibe, which i totally appreciate

Interesting. My copy definitely includes At the stake. And no repeats.

I wasn't expecting it, but this is one of my favourite of their vinyl releases on ipecac. I've really enjoyed listening to it as 4 distinct albums, rather than just pushing through however many tracks at a time on cd or stream.

Also sounds and looks good (and poly lined inner sleeves!).

There really is something about the side limit of an LP that helps structure a record. Even though I own most things as CDs I still like to know where the tracks fall on the record, if the sequence deviates etc.
