I'm not a guitarist, but I know guitarists who've studied and tried to copy Hendrix's style. What Buzz is saying is totally right, and by saying that he's not dissing Hendrix in any way. Hendrix was an alien basically. In fact he couldn't even read music.

If some 12 yr old kid today is taking guitar lessons today and wants to play the blues, the average teacher is gonna show him Robert Johnson, Hubert Sumlin, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan to learn the basics.

That vinyl guide interview is really good. Buzz is very excited about Tarantula Heart and now I am too after hearing him break down the process. Lots of good tidbits in the interview

I noticed that Buzz is really excited about the record on that half hour YouTube interview, too. I love it. It's totally different from the press cycles of the last few records where he didn't really hype anything up (except maybe Gift of Sacrifice).

Just listened to this and it was great! King Buzzo taking over the airwaves and compiled an hours worth of music featuring some of his favourite songs and artists. Plenty to enjoy here.

Obviously it's because i've heard so many of these interviews at this point, but yes EVERY time i hear about Kurt or the Atlantic years i just want to skip right past that part. As it stands, i think it should be outlawed to ask Buzz about anything pre-2006.

Yeah seems that way. Buzz has said a few times he would like to do another. Not really my favourite iteration of the band to be honest. They tend to get too jokey in that form. It's unfathomable that this would be the third 1983 record and we haven't had a second Melvins Lite one yet!!!
