That Montrose album IS pretty great. And yes, it's Sammy Hagar on lead vox, but worth a listen or two. Not a Van Hagar fan, a little before my time..  But Montrose s/t is cool. It holds up

Some nice tidbits revealed there. One thing i increasingly notice with Buzz in interviews is that quite often he doesn't actually answer a question that someone asks. They may ask a very simple, direct question about the album or such and rather than tackle that query, instead he randomly goes off talking about something completely off topic. Going into his usual Buzz spiel of things he likes to repeat in interviews that have no relation to the actual question posed. It's mildly irritating and you can even see the interviewers think to themselves "i didn't ask that!". I don't think he does it purposely or to be awkward, i think he just doesn't grasp what they are asking sometimes and he is heavily prone to rambling. It's annoying that interviewers just sit there and dare not interrupt him during these moments. I'd love some time for someone to stop him in his tracks and repeat the initial question.

I'm not a writer,blogger,journalist, or otherwise one who interviews others, but I've always had a fantasy of getting to interview buzz(i'm a dale man though myself) and just asking and talking to him about movies. I even had a dream about this once. It seems so obvious - he likes them - but no one ever does this. I don't get it. His interviews always suck and its because of the interviewer. These people don't know how to talk to him. Also, where would buzz be without Dale anyhow? hmm? hmm? Dale can do IT ALL. He is THE MAN.

honestly I hate to say it, becuase I'm just barely behind buzz, but this kind  of shows his age a little.
most interviewers are likely younger than him at this point.  some substantially younger.   so talking about old timey movies is something they not only have no knowledge of, but something they don't even consider.
they're life experiences are mostly dictated by social media and internet exposure.   so they don't even know what "citizen cane" or "12 angry men" is.

what needs to happen is YOU, colonel cheese, needs to interview him.  and you will know enough to ask him about his love of classic films.  and then I (old guy) can read that interview and enjoy it because I understand wtf you're talking about and it's not "old guy" shit to me.     so let's make this happen Colonel.

Love this. Thanks for the support. I had not thought about the age of the interviewers but of course you are right. I may not have realized this as my own kids are cinematically advanced and movies are very important to me. I would love to interview buzz and would of course jump at the chance. Also i didn't mean to seem like i was trashing buzz in any way. It's just dale impresses me everytime i listen to him playing damn near anything on anything or anywhere.
