...We enjoy "Cheif Ten Beers" as a hang-over cure at work...

...Mind you, we are all drummers unfortunately...

the last time i listened to Prick in it's entiretly, it was the best listen i've ever got from it. The lesson i learned was don't disregard their albums so quickly, i thought COD was shit too but just kept listening to it for about a year and a half and now i finally "get it." It's a great listen (COD) in the car on a nite-drive.

The Dead Zeppelin

I always heard this was the worst album they put out. But I was misinformed. I listened to it after a good hardy night of drinkin', smokin', lovin' (on what I pray was a woman) and I was blown by the magic of Prick.

TosT

Yeah, I had been set up for a big letdown when i first heard it... but then realized it really wasn't too bad

EGO the Living Planet

I bought it the day it came out. I dug it right away and dug the fact the MELVINS were willin' to take it to the edge like that. It drives me nuts to see posts on bulliten boards describin' it as "not even music" or a "joke the MELVINS played on their fans".

Cynthia

I cannot express the orgasmic love I feel for the Melvins, however I do think Prick is a non album, and sold it to Rainy Day Records after about the first two weeks of owning it.  I think that to get inpatient with them is ok and I got inpatient with that album.

turnacuss

one of the many reasons people hate the melvins also happens to be the reason i love them so. prick is great.

Reverend Ebeneezer

Prick rocks...in all seriousness, it's not my favourite record but I'd take it over the Crybaby or Ozma any day. 'Chief Ten Beers' and 'Roll Another One' are moments of genius.
Don't cut me!DON'T CUT ME!
-Thrones, Simon Legree live...

Aggroculture

It's not like I listen to it on a monthly basis or anything, but Prick is a fine record, with lots of humour on it. Song titles are amongst the best the Melvins have ever come up with too.

steve

Also... "Pure Digital Silence" gives us a track that any Melvins fan can cover.

i'll just get in the mood to listen to it like once a month...it's like a period!
I just don't want to hear a serious album ocassionaly, it's a Melvins comedy album in my book! The real songs IMO are Rickets, Chief 10 Beers, Punch The Lion, and Larry. I seriously think the made this so they wouldn't get lumped in with the other grungers...why else would they do it?

Hog log

I like the whole stuff ('cause their spirit is always in it)
