There's no weird surprises here.they didn't try to turn Disinvite into a Who medley or anything.
Thank-God for that!! I did think that at least one track would get the messed with treatment. A nursery rhyme in the middle of a song or something!

Apparently we did really need a another fucking version of "At a Crawl" after all.

I'm also surprised there was no Electroretard "new and improved" treatments to these songs. I gotta trust Melvins instincts here. It's quite possible the songs didn't lend themselves to any rework or maybe it would have seem contrived. Excited to hear the whole batch

Well, we'll always have "In the Air Tonight." Will that be your most enduring song?
You know, that song won't lie down. It just won't go away. I mean, there's a Mike Tyson moment associated with it now. It's just bizarre. I guess it has a bit of mystery, a lot of atmosphere, and the drums coming in, pinning people to the wall.

I got mine today, by the way... is it just me or at the very end of "At a Crawl" (1986 version) and before "Disinvite" starts you can hear Buzz repeating the word "Ready"? I just listened to 26 songs and Buzz doesn't repeat the word... I know, I'm a geek.

EDIT: I typed "here" instead of "hear"

Foot fetishism means love, because, it's the magic of feet odor... Long live depravation.

Outside of At A Crawl, i never really knew these songs prior to this release. It has been good to go back and properly listen to the start of the band. The new redo's of the old songs on this EP are great! Very similar to the originals but with just enough difference to warrant being brought back to the present. Maybe i'm hoping for too much here, but i do wish that this might inspire Buzz to write some more material in this vein. To get the band working in a more crunchy, heavy sound again. For all the dissing of Toshi's production on their releases, this one sounds pretty darn good.

Anyone know when the vinyls are going up?  I'm on sort-of-vacation this weekend (randomly drove to Boise, Idaho) and just need to know if I need to have my itchy trigger finger ready on Sunday morning.
