Quote from: glen on February 18, 2025, 09:22:02 AMI've got a question..  has anyone here actually seen Void Manes?
I've not seen him but he opened for Melvins at some shows a few years ago with his modular synth circuit bending etc so it's not just some alias that Buzz uses or such. He does actually exist!

Could you see his face? I remember the first time I saw Fantomas in 2000 they had an anonymous DJ wearing a balaclava opening for them. I thpught it could've been Patton but was a bit chunkier, perhaps it was Buzz?

PepsiMike

People have met him. It's funny to see people finally wondering about him.
On another note, glad to see ni maitres on the new album, nice guy.

FartLips

so the upcoming tour will be another best of. have the melvins turned into the eagles?
Judy is mad.🤣

You said they wouldn't play any of these new songs and i think you'll probably be proved right! It's a little weird what has happened to the band since Freak Puke. That was the last album where they toured performing a batch of songs from a new release. After that it was just new tours and unrelated new albums. Maybe a song or two from whatever new record they had out at the time. I'll even be surprised if they air any Tarantula Heart tracks on this upcoming tour.

Bigval

I can't say that first single does anything for me but Thunderball is now #1 on the Bandcamp sales chart for all genres.

Yeah, seems the most they've played from any recent album was three songs:
Hold It In tour was just "Crankenstein", "Onions", and "Sesame"
Walk with Love and Death tour was just "Euthanasia", "Edgar the Elephant", and occasionally "Sober-delic"
Basses Loaded they did "Hideous Woman", "Decay of Lying", and apparently "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" which might have been acapella or prerecorded.

For PAT I thought they did more but it was only "Stop/Moving to Florida" and "Don't Forget to Breathe" which might technically be three songs but only feels like two.

Bad Mood Rising they only played two songs but it was half the album!

i wouldn't be surprised that the current condition of the music industry plays a bit in them sticking to the hits to keep people coming and adding new fans. its a shame cause stuff like the smash the state ep were some of their best and really deserve some limelight.

GrimReaper

I ordered two Mustard Gas and two cds. I'm going to give a cd to Bad Ronald and drag his ass out in town for the tour.

That was my thought. He's done it before a bit. I feel like i want to know more about what Void Manes and Ni Maitres did. Can't hear many effects in the single so far. I wonder if they take a back seat on the rest of the record or are a bit more forward in the mix.

black stallion

I think Gareth is a bassist too
