PrickHonky

Honky is a great album in my opinion and one of the reasons why I love Melvins as much as I do. They continue to put out whatever they want without giving a shit what anyone else might think.
What would a woman that fine want in a big, fat, nasty, greasy, fat, stank, bloated, cheesy-backed, 12-sandwich-eatin' bastard?

Turn around mister, and never trust a girl giving her donuts away for free.

It's easy to say "I love Honky", man. Everyone loves Honky.
Say "I love the Crybaby" and I'll shake your hand.

Honky is in my top five Melvins releases.  I love in the freaktose...One of their best ever songs.  As for Crybaby I'm not sure it's possible to love it.  I love maybe 75% of that album but certain songs must be skipped.
Ridicule is nothing to be scared of.

"They were playing guitars and getting loud and they spilled beer on Jesus" (Daniel Johnston)

anaconda

probably because of Deutrom's heavy involvement in it.

p.s.
Deutrom is "the Crybaby"
Preston is "the Bootlicker"
Lukin is "the Maggot"

I hear lots of theories about this.

Never really looked into it but the one I always liked best was the simple one, it shows the different "personalities" the band has in their music...
Don't click this

anaconda

The way I understood it was that

Lukin had no ambition, couldn't play in key so he fed off their talent, a maggot
Preston started a fan club, wrote fanzines about them and begged to be in the band, a bootlicker
Deutrom  got all pissy in interviews after he was kicked out, holding a grudge, a crybaby
