You've got it backwards: Ozma has GPT!
And also, Ozma hasen't been rereleased.

Judy is mad.🤣

Boner still has the Ozma/GPT re-issue CD available.
It's on their iTunes web-store as well.

the pic inside is cool. Lori is holding that black n white cat up by its tail

FartLips

i have the re-issue, but i want to see a re-mastered version.

Quote from: the bloatWhoah! When did Ipecac re-release Ozma? Is it in stores or what? I looked on the website and couldn't find mention of it. Where can I buy it?
The original recordings are super-lame and do Dale no justice. Can't wait to hear the drums turned up and filled out in the mix - if dis be true....

It does not have Ozma. It just a re-mastered version of Gluey Porch Treatments along with some early demos. The Melvins and Ipecac should really consider releasing a re-mastered version of Ozma. along with liner notes explaining the epic "Legend Of Lorax". This would be soooo choice and funny.

there's no big story with lori really. she's in her 40s now and
she lives in San Fran still. she attends the odd show and people
dont treat her like anything but another person. Those pics i posted
are from the summer of 98 in the Haight. She stopped being in the
band becuz 1. Buzz kicked her out, and 2. Because she was using
and he stopped.

Quote from: flyinghousesI was thinking about buying this. Is it the same recording as the Ozma release on boner records or is it a newer recording of the songs. I would love to hear new recordings of the songs

In case you're still confused....'Ozma' IS NOT on the remastered version of 'Gluey Porch Treatments' released via Ipecac records.  'Ozma' has yet to be remastered but it can be found along with GPT on the Boner CD release(excellent deal, if i may say so).  Overall, the GPT re-release does sound better in that it is a good deal louder and fuller in sound then the original.  I noticed this right away when i first played it in my car and could achieve same damage at a lower volume......living on the 2nd floor of an apartment, its rare that i can even think about popping in GPT into my home stereo....what with all the anonymous complaints and dirty looks ive received already.

The unreleased demos are no big deal, IMO.  They're alright as an added bonus, i guess....they're more historical than anything else.

it only took about ten minutes of getting high and throwing in the melvins dvd last night to earn the sounds of a broomstick thumping under the floor in my apartment... but that thing is just not satisfying on a low volume...

i hear ya brotha.  The bastard below me has the nerve to be really polite about it as well, so hes not really giving me a reason to start a fight and turn the shit up even louder.  I cant even believe he puts up with the noisemaking i do on occasion with my guitar and amp.  All this restraint is killin' me though.......God, i wish i had my very own house.  Screw the white picket fence and the wife and kids part, i just need my own private sanctuary to make some noise.

ha, exactly. i either need a house, or some neighbours who are going to hear the first few riffs through the walls and floor, and go "fucking cool!" and run up with a couple beers for the next tune...

What an original topic name. Anyway I finally got my copy of GPT in the mail and was very excited about it. I find in my life as I feel less depressed and down on myself I'm more able to get excited about anything, such as procuring a new Melvins album. I'm really glad I got the Ipecac release and it has a really cool commentary by Buzz in it.

I haven't listened to it in its entirety yet but I have a strong feeling it will grow on me.

I was so excited about it that I held off opening it for a little while and haven't actually even opened the Pelican E.P. yet. Anyway, as far as the sound quality, it's actually impressively good. I think part of the lesson here is that as sad as it is, it pays to get shit off the web, instead of going into a store where dozens of copies of The Killers is what you'll find (unless you go to Tower or one of those shitty little places that will have like a couple Melvins cds but it's hit-and-miss). It's growing wearying the constant bands that are passed off as very artistic or rock that almost seem to be creations of the music industry. I find it frustrating because I have a friend who has relatively similar taste in me but is always telling me I'm going to like this or that band and then I discover it's another one of these bands that seem as if they are music conglomerate creations. I'm really not against major labels as far as music, but it's gotten to a point where instead of something like Nirvana, where they discover a somewhat radio friendly band and turn it into a giant entity, they have to almost create these bands and tell us how artistic and "rock" they are. And then I listen to Bright Eyes because I'm told by Pitchfork Media or a good friend how great they are, and find that they seem to be pretty much what I thought they would be. I actually got to the point where I bought the new Interpol record, which is somewhat of an example of this, although they seem to at least have some artistic core, but the point being that I just sort of want to like something that is on the radio and so I end up buying an Interpol record. Not that it's bad, I mean it's pretty good but it's kind of an expression of my wanting to like something that is the radio is saying is really great.

Dog Tired

Bright Eyes is good... what album did you get?

Alvin

I don't know maybe I judged them too quickly; I really only listened to one song that was playing on XM radio, and I've heard a few of the samples from Amazon, which I can't remember too well. Are any of the good songs played on the radio, because I can't tell too much from the Amazon clips. All I know is that they're supposed to be really great and the little I've heard left me feeling disappointed but like I said I may have judged too quickly.

i just got in the mail something i bought on ebay. an original 1986 alchemy records pressing of gluey porch treatments.  my friend is looking over my shoulder making fun of me, ("oh its so fucking awesome...had to tell your friends right away, right??")  but i don't care.  it is beautiful.  i don't even want to touch it with a needle.  some of the best money i've spent recently....
