...of Their Best Records.

 Now that he's said that I'm going to give it a go again and see if the poppy track where he goes "which one are you" isn't the only one I like. I was so turned off by I think the title track where this tape recorder very loudly either rewinds or fast-forwards that I didn't really care to listen to it very much after that. Now that he's said it's one of his favorites I think I'm going to listen to it again, but more or less skip that particular song because it's unnerving to me.

I've always liked that album.

What would really be interesting would be to hear what he thought was their worst albums.

Dog Tired

Watching Pigs of the Roman Empire live is amazing.

Alvin

Yeah when I saw them do it Kevin was going crazy with hitting that bell or whatever it was! Gosh that was strange, but very effective.

Dog Tired

that pipe thing.

that was amazing.  it fell over like 4 times when he hit it. and he had jingle bells under his mumu, then they fell.

POTRE was great.   It has a lot of variety, and the ambient stuff is smooth, which is a lot better than harsh noise.  I'm glad it wasn't shitty like Merzbow (overated noise band that sonic youth go apeshit over).

i really liked this album when it came out.
my friend who i make listen to the melvins really likes the title track.  she's come with me to see them live a few times and that was one of her favorite songs of the last tour.  i was kinda shocked that a quasi-melvins listener would like that song so much.
what is more shocking is that 100% melvins fans DON'T like it.

as i have said before, working with lustmord was one of their best ideas of recent times.

I went to see the Melvins when the last played in Cleveland, and they did Pigs. Well, the people that went with me pretty much tried to drag me out of there about half way through it.

I told them to fuck themselves.
This isn't a time for lectures!

Reverend Ebeneezer

It's an awesome riff! I fail to see why it's hated so, and that Jello record catches hardly any flak. Still, I'm probably prejudiced...

Anyway, nothing live annoyed me more than Tomahawk "playing" Harlem Clowns when I saw them. Waste of 5 minutes...Why am I telling you this?
Don't cut me!DON'T CUT ME!

Pigs is still my most listened to album from the mighty melvins.

I fuckin love that record. even the wierd carousel stuff @ the end.
