your crazy man! if it was buzz singing those songs you'd proably fall over your own tongue ranting how great a CD it is. Buzz or not the music on that CD is excellent.

just curious...what is it like to see buzz/mike singing skin horse live?

Filosofem

hey what do you guys think of stag?? it is their most experimental album i have come across, what do you think of it?

Reverend Ebeneezer

On the whole I love it...obviously, someparts of it are pretty throwaway but the good stuff is indeed, very good. By the by, if you think Stag's experimental, check out Honky, Prick and Collossus of Destiny...Heh!

Stag was my 3rd album I bought and I don't like it.

I love it.

It's musical briliance from start to finish apart from the track maybe with the earaching synth sounds. Don't have Honky so can't really compare...

HUGE difference from an album like Bullhead though.

You should actually get HAT next if you don't already have. Took me ages to get into it but it's along the same lines in a minor way.

EGO the Living Planet

I love it. It's not one of my Top 5, but I do really fuckin' like it. There's a cuople of absolutelty killer songs near the end. It's my wife's favorite MELVINS disc, so I play it a lot.

I wouldn't say it was their most expiremental though.  Like the Rev says, some others top it easily.

Dr. Gonzo

Probably my favourite....

Beto Brasil

Trading music since 1999 :

I really love Stag as a whole. I think it is one of the band's favorite albums also. It's definitely the best of the 3 on Atlantic. If you see it at a store grab it, I had to pay $35.00 for my copy on line.

beee

my favorite of atlantic is houdini

anaconda

I love the Mark D era so much!! He made them explore and expand.

That being said, I love the Kevin era even more! The trilogy, HAT!!,
Electroretard.

Still tho!, Honky, Prick and Fucker Club have Mark D all over them!!!

And lets not mention that I stalk Joe Preston in cyberspace for what
strings he uses on his warlock! I OWN A WARLOCK too!!

The melvins have been defined by their bassist as much as they
have by dale or buzz if you really think about it.

each one was different but each bassist had a sound and story!!
the melvs always use the best thats at their disposal at that moment
in time.

Filosofem

yea i have only listened to the record once, i agree that it is musical genuis as  all melvins albums are, but i came away saying to myself that is so differnt than houdini and H.A.T and 26 songs. does it take a while to get into???

the melvins

Stag is good.
not my favorite though.
I still love bullhead so much.

moorst

Stag is their best, in my opinion.
