I can get any number of copies of Stag or Honky from my local CD store that I want. So i don't see how it can be out of print.

Quote from: Kimana Wanchoo on October 10, 2005, 11:36:30 AMAs for Amazon's tracklisting, they usually get the details wrong from time to time on some releases, for example, "We Reach: The Music of the Melvins" and The Mars Volta's "Frances The Mute".

the tracklist of Frances The Mute is difficult to work out even if you have the CD. You have to work out the last 2 tracks by following the lyrics. All the MusicMatch-style things seem to have it all wrong. What I actually did was to stitch all 7 pieces of Cassandra Gemini together as one long (32min) track.

Honky is way rarer than Stag. I ordered this from www.play.com for only about a fiver. This site is based on the island of Guernsey, which means it escapes certain taxes and additions, and can offer free postage to UK customers. It's great cos I managed to get three full-lengths (inc. 'Stag' and the unititled Sigur Ros album) for about 22 quid.

I find that CDs like 'Stag', and by this I mean when a band signs to a major and is later dropped, the CD is very cheap because to the major the band is small and doesn't sell much. Another example of this is 'Superjudge' by Monster Magnet - their first for A&M records, and it's now available (at least on UK sites) for as little as

That's a great album. They'll be at the BIG DAY OUT next year and i'll try and RECORD them, same as with IGGY + The Stooges.

Frances The Mute?? guys that album is really easy to understand... unless you don't have the lyrics (and that means you didn't buy it bad boy [-X )

All you have to do is play the CD and follow the lyrics, and then you will see that the first 4 songs are in the first 4 tracks and the last song "Cassandra Geminni" goes from track #5 to track #12.

Hey I did buy the album. And I did follow the lyrics. That's why I pointed out that the tracklisting was wrong on Amazon.

Just so I don't get accused of not buying it, or downloading/burning it. It's a great album.

That's good Kimana, the bad boy thing was not directed specially to you but to some people in other forums that obviously never bought the CD and they're still trying to figure it out, or to some people that never pay attention to the lyrics.

I believe that you can still buy 'Honky' from the AmRep site - atleast last time I checked....also, I bought a copy of Alive at the Fucker Club just two years ago from AmRep and kept it in the cellophane because the album sucks and I already had an open copy. Anyway, now it's out of print and I've got one still wrapped up. I'm fucking stoked.

I should have bought a bunch of copies of Electroretard because I hear that one is hard to find now.

Yeah I know this is the case, but there are more actual parts (as in separated tracks) on the CD than it says there is on the back cover. That's what threw me.

First of all, "Cygnus", "Miranda" and "Cassandra" includes movements or suites such as "Con Safo" or "Sarcophagi". Those movements are just parts of the songs. The first four songs are only in the first 4 tracks (like any average CD), "Cassandra" goes from track 5 to track 12 and the movements of "Cassandra" have nothing to do with the tracks of the CD. The real order of the movements in "Cygnus" are unknown because apparently the order listed in the album's liner notes is not 100% correct, also the real order of Cassandra's movements are total mystery and they have nothing to do with the tracks of the CD. Like somebody said once: this is art and it is meant to be confused.

i bought it for less than 20 canadian dumbass.... just cause you see it one place for 40 doesn't mean it's 40 everywhere in canada... stupid fuck.

so maybe its only under 20 in one store where you got it  :o

so yes i might add that just because YOU see it in one place for 20 does not mean its 20 everywhere... there are probably other stores outside of Canada that have it for 20 or less.

Why is there a police report at the end of this song? I really like the song, but that report at the end is pretty disturbing. Infact, there seems to be a dark undercurrent on Stag. Why?

because...
MOHAHA!

Just kidding...I dont know why but "tipping the lion" was an activity by aristocrates where they would stand in a ring around  some poor schmoo and kick , beat and occasionally poke him with a sword. they did this for "kicks".
today we know better, today we get our kicks from HARD DRUGS! or those hilarious sit-coms that are child approved!

stag has many dark themes, torture, sacrificing of goats (black bock is infact about black metal people, buzzo has said this)
himself)  and s&m.

but I think its darker things underneath, the things we DONT understand or know.

Lividity

That's the Melvins for you. And I never knew that's what "Tipping The Lion" meant.

I heard that there was something disturbing at the end of "Prig" too. Anyone care to elaborate?
