THIS IS THE BEST LIVE ALBUM I'VE EVER HEARD.

whoever reviewed the album a while ago was totally wrong, it's so clear and good sounding.
i'm still listening to it, so i'll give you my review, if you want it, later...

OR WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE
This is for people who have heard the new album, such as myself.
I wonder if this is ok with the moderators to have this thread up, I think it's more significant because we will hear the actual fans from here discussing their thoughts on hearing it.
Maybe I love to rub it in, I guess, since I'm one of the first to hear it on this board, from what I know.
I'm also willing to share it with you if I know you're cool and stuff, on slsk, and perhaps on aim too.
I know I'M gonna buy this album when it comes out, and I expect YOU to as well.

In this review, I am speaking from my heart, and I swear on everything I say, not just because I'm a Melvins fan.

Pearl Bomb is the first song they played on the album/show.
it is perhaps the most heavy song on the album because of the surprising way they open it.
Dale is playing on hi-hat and kick drum, hitting the rim of the snare, tearing it up in a better beat than
the skipping sound in the original.
Buzz is playing along with Trevor Dunn, which makes it miraculous.
it is shorter than the studio version, which in my opinion, makes it better.
you can consider it as powerful as Skweetis.

Hooch is the second song to be played.
Yes, the vocals are a bit strong, especially on this one, but that's what I like.
Don't get me wrong, you can hear all the instruments beautifully too.
I suppose they wanted it that way because that's one of the most noticable lyrics of the Melvins.
It is played exactly like the studio version.

Night Goat is the 3rd song to be played.
The beginning atmospheric sound that comes from Buzz's guitar is awesome,
it reminds me of the Shining, while you are following Jack Torrences car in the mountains.
Then of course Trevor comes in with the famous bassline.
Dale plays it the way he plays it live, with those few cymbal hits with the kick drum.
You should know how the rest will be like if you've seen them play the song in the last few years.

Lizzy is the 4th song to be played.
This is possibly the best I've ever heard Buzz's voice sound.
This is his best singing song on the album.
His guitar has a better feel to it than in the original.
and Trevor's bass is magnificent also.

Goin' Blind is the 5th song to be played.
Buzz's guitar is a little more Distorted than in the original, so it's heavier.
Whoever is backing him up vocally, I'm assuming Dale, is doing a brilliant job.
You can tell the age in Buzz's voice, I love that.

CopAche is the 6th song to be played.
The bass is very very great, then Buzz comes in.
It's faster than the recorded version, and wayyyy better.
His guitar sounds a bit distant (but you can hear it perfectly), but screeching.

Set Me Straight/DHC is the 7th song.
Buzz is singing on this song, I suppose it's hard for Dale to do it at this point in the show.
But still, Dale is doing back up vocals, and still doing great.
They play a little bit of the song, then go to DHC
someone fill me in if this is a cover, because I don't know.
Whatever it is, it's brilliant.
Buzz does a little solo with Trevor, and then Dale has a little go as well.
I love the end of it, what Trevor does.

Sky Pup is the 8th song.
I believe Dale is singing on this song, it's cool.
There's an echoing in his voice, and it sounds very different from the original.
Buzz's guitar is stronger, and the most noticible thing about the song, besides Dale's(?) voice
it has a bit of an English/Australian accent.

Teet is the 9th song.
The Drums and Bass are strong in this song, since it cuts on and off to the rhythm section.
There's more harshness to the sound than the original, by which I mean power in the guitars
and a bit more of a darker feel.

Joan Of Arc is the 10th song.
Dale starts the vocals with that saying they start the song off with, and it has weird effects with it.
The scream that comes from Buzz and Dale set the song on fire, possibly one of the best screams.
This song is the best collaboration of Buzz and Dale's voices.
They are singing quietly at the end of the song, and distorted bass and drums comes in, and ends
the song and a few violinish screeches from Buzz's guitar.
A surprisingly good way to end the song.

Honey Bucket is the 11th song.
This song is way more fast than the original, possibly even more heavy.
Dale is tearing it up on drums, considering the fast pace of the song.
Before you know the song is on, it's over.

Hag Me is the 12th song.
It starts with screeches, the drums stick out more in this song.
They keep that same exact feel of dread and swaying in waves, that's the visual I get from this song.
You can probably understand Buzz's lyrics better on this album at times, and then not, but that's kind of expected.
I think all three are singing along on this song, like on the chorus.
The end of this song has always been my favorite part, and it doesn't let down.
They seem to enhance either the beginning or end to all of the songs.
The end becomes static like, and tingly, perhaps you'll understand when you hear.
The drums are the main reason for this, with the cymbals, they're messed around with electronically.
It adds a whole new atmosphere to the song, and then when you get into the very end,
a weird back up voice is singing with voice saying "HEY!", very weird and cool

Spread Eagle Beagle is the last song.
This song...is...so...fucking...great.
They mess with the drums and add electronic stuff with it.
This song feels like it's coming at you, running towards you and attacking.
some of the sounds that come out are so cool sounding, and randomly strange.
Dale's drumming becomes more messed around with as it goes along, going and coming back to you.
The beats are spliced, making for a very cool effect.
They keep on using effects for the song, which adds a new admiration for the song.
all right, i've just described the first FOURTH of the song!
now the drums really get going, and there's a sound effect that goes in and out playing with him.
it's an outer space laser gun kind of sound. powowwowowiggitywowow.
but it's not exactly that either...
The drums keep on getting soft then loud, completely taking over, and not.
you hear the drums as they actually are, and then they sound like they're coming from another room from
across the hall, it's completely insane, but you will love it to death.
This song let's Dale shine, of course.
The outer space sound comes in and out too, just like the drums.
hear it in your left ear, then right, all about atmosphere.
Space sounds come and go, the song kind of stops, but Dale hits the drums once and a while,
with weird sound effects coming in and out, surprising you to know when it's over.
the last minute comes, and it's just the space sound going away.

And that's the album.
You guys who haven't heard it will love it like I do.
This is an album that doesn't disappoint ANY Melvins fan.

The best Live album I've ever heard.

this is definately a "Buy", and a superb one if that.
but there is nothing wrong with downloading their albums, we all support them one way or another.

hope this will explain some of the awesomeness that this album puts out.
my personal favorite songs I'm really into now are 'Pearl Bomb' and 'Spread Eagle Beagle' since they're so different.

is spruced up based on your review of it. Great review, man.

Houdini already had some of the Melvins greatest songs and the updated versions from this album will in no doubt improve upon them.
