good point.

TURN THE VOLUME UP.

another good point.  many production problems can be circumvented this way..

yeah, bullhead's fine except for the volume. they must have mastered it in the fucking public library or something

I had a weird Melvins dream the other night. I was watching them re-record Houdini at an old farm in an empty silo and it sounded awesome. They filmed it too for a bonus DVD to include with the CD.

j.m.

personally, methinks they should re-record "ozma".
that one could most certainly benefit from an update.

I don't really like the idea of re recording albums. The albums done, it's been out for years, it's good (both Houdini and Bullhead), so why?? what's the point?? I'd much rather hear some new stuff. The live version of Houdini would be ok though.

I agree......but it will be interesting to see what they do. A proper new Melvins Lp by just the Melvins is long overdue!

yeah me too.
I think it is ok to rerecord it, but at the same time they should do something new. mmmh. maybe they could do it all: rerecords houdini, live-houdini, houdini london dvd (ok this is rather impossible) and a new record. as a 4 lp set named "we love themelvins.net".

Guts

This displeases me. I am perfectly happy with Houdini in every way. Re-recording it seems like a waste of time.  I think i'm going to have to confront Buzz about this and when the hospital says it's ok for me to go home, I'll be sure to report what he says.
No TV and no beer make Guts something something....

Agent48

i do not think that this will be a waste... because i don't think that they would rerecord something without making it completely new.

What is this "proper new melvins lp"?

Are NBWYCS, Sieg Howdy, Pigs Of The Roman Empire not proper melvins lp?

I think it's quite funny that Melvins fans get 3 albums in 2 years and bitch. While other fans have to wait up to 5 years before they hear anything by their favorite band.

Yeah, glad I'm not a Tool fan. That would be boring to wait five years and then hear the same shit again.

Branch Breaker

I just got informed that I got my new job and there is no drug test so I'm smoking for the first time in three weeks. What does this have to do with Houdini? Well, get really baked and start the album with Spread Eagle Beagle. Listen as it suddenly morphs into Hooch with the album on repeat. It makes a way better opener than closer and you you can let it play again to bookend the album. While a new Houdini could be really good I doubt it with will have the awesome sound of the Spread Eagle Beagle/Hooch morph.  :toke:

i'm looking forward to this "new houdini", not that there is anything wrong with the old one, but you got a good point agent. knowing them they will completly change everything, therefore making it a "new" album.
revolve on electro retard comes to mind. same song only completly different.
