I just stopped by the book signing in NYC and this was the transaction:

- Vinney: hi buzz. Are you familiar with the Melvins message board?
-Buzz: hah, yea. (Wipes sweat from just-played set)
- v: (holds up tape) I interviewed you about 10 years ago in Boston ---
- b: -- I think I remember that --
- v: -- the guys on that forum have been bugging me almost daily for a decade to prove this exists and upload it to YouTube. I was hoping you could sign it as proof..
- b: (laughs and signs it)
- v: Thanks! I'll tell them you said you remember it!
- b: I do remember it!!

Also: I realize this isn't the same as getting it uploaded to youtube, nor does it actually prove what's inside that tape. After all, I could have fabricated that entire dialog.

The sad truth is that I will soon get it online, and it'll be real, and people will watch it, and it'll just be some shitty, dark, hard-to-hear, poorly conducted, awkward interview. the living mystery will be replaced by a shitty youtube-player-shaped corpse.
