I don't really think everything he's ever done is perfect. You have to take the rough with the smooth with the Melvins. Everything they've done is interesting and that's good enough for me.

Sometimes they experiment and I don't like it much, but the brilliant stuff easily outweighs the bad IMHO.

No, I'm not saying that at all. I like Fantomas, but I don't tend to listen to them much. I have to really be in the mood. I can understand completely that they're pushing back musical boudaries and they're all talented musicians, yadda yadda, it's just that they haven't got that 'grab' to them. The thread proposed that everything Buzzo's done is perfect, and Fantomas IMO clearly are not a perfect band...

Fantomas' first album is golden. I love it to death. its a true classic. Their second album I'm not a fan of.

And even if everything the melvins do isn't great, I just enjoy the fact they are doing it. There isn't one release they have that is bad artistically. Everything is pure fucking melvins, but some I just don't like to very much to listen to.

I don't know how anyone can say that Collosus of destiny is a bad album, either. You need to give it another listen, theres nothing wrong with it. If you don't like it, how can you ever like listening to them live?

Prick is a pretty interesting CD, even though most of the tracks on there you can't really nod your head to or jam to.  My friend just heard the cd "Prick" for the first time and he thought it was really great!  He said it's very interesting and funny.  So even when some Melvins stuff isn't really that well planned or thought out, it still has some listening value.

the first few melvins albums were bad (gpt, 10 songs, ozma was better)
his solo ep sucked (so did dales)
the non-cover crybaby material sucked

buzzos probably my favorite guitarist, and a huge influence on my own guitar playing, i love the guy, but hes not god

everyone has a different taste.... i dig 10 songs (Killer!), and fantomas was like a gift from heaven ... i was looking for that kind of band all my life...... its like a dreamcometrue
