Various people here know the Melvins personally.  They have no problem saying so.  I just don't understand why the secrecy, especially when it's just regarding a bootleg shirt.  Step on anyone's toes? Future relations?  "Here's the lowdown on the Melvins shirt.  I will put the secret cache  under a rock near the park at two am.  You are never to reveal your sources, under penalty of death!"
