After the melvins at the mandrake art show the melvins played an invite only show hakf a block away.

Pretty much was the best Melvins show I have ever seen. 50 or so people in attendance. Opening with Second Coming/Ballad of Dwight Fry...and continuing on into all kinds of music from the latest album and new song.

Small kits, small amps.

Amazing. Best lineup of the Melvins ever.

And a cop snuck me in. Imagine that. A Los Angeles Police Officer sneaking me into an invite only rock show?

Anyway, best Melvins show I have ever seen. (And I've been going to Melvins shows since 1986 when I was in 9th Grade).

  I demand details.

even a half-assed attempt at a setlist would be nice.

how does the cd era keep one from learning song titles?

I don't mean to be an ass.  Thanks for the review.

John Schuller

simple.

In the good ol' days you would sit there at the record player with the cover of Gluey Porch Treatments in your hands. You would gaze at that fucker the whole time...knowing the record starts with Eye Flys...knowing side one ends with Leech...

Nowadays..you pop that CD in the car stereo and rock while driving around! I too busy airdrumming and trying not to hit anyone to look at song titles.

The new song sounds not a lot like anything from Senile Animal. Lots of information in the song. That is for sure!!!

come on brother, break it down.  use your talent of opinion to tell me a little about it.

slow?  fast? heavy?   drums?    buzz on vocals?  jared on vocals?   give me something tangible!  :D

zippy

Are there any links to the art that was exhibited?

It was a rocker in the rock sense. Not hardcore. Not punk. Not metal. Uptempo. Complex riffing. Buzz vocals.

Is there any chance that this song was a cover of Boss Hoss?
