i quoted you, but the line i chose is unimportant.
i just didn't want to quote the entirety of it, for the sake of brevity.
just a quote to say: i appreciate you

Wow, I'm still not part of the inner circle enough to hear this early....glad I made up that part about 'liking to wait' in another thread'............*skulks off all jelous to think up more unfunny fake negative reviews*
 Just kidding all, keep the reviews coming in.
Also melvins is gay cuz some of their songs are just noise, i tell you this so you all don't buy albums and find out only one two songs is good on them.

Even though I don`t think it`s Buzz and Dales idea or wish, this album could perhaps be the one that could open the market towards a broader audience. They will at least get those that are in between alternative and chart-orientated music. They have written 10 extremly catchy songs, and I can`t imagine anything else than that it will sound HUGE live. I think it`s a natural progress for Melvins to release an accessible album, after experimenting on the albums prior.

An accessable album, but still lightyears in front of every single band on this planet. Can`t wait to get home and listen to it again.

what can I say, the album I've been waiting for all my life!!!
it starts slowly with a heavy, sludgy song called "boris", only a genius could have come up with a name like that for a song!!!
it then continues with "anaconda", where dale and coady's drum skills really show!!! I don't think dale could have played this one  by himself...
I didn't really like the other stuff at the begining, but after I've listened to "your blessened" 6,236 times, I can defintely say it's a good song...   a real 1991 feeling to it though...   it's like the melvins are going back to their roots...
the end of the album is a huge surprise....  I know album endings are important to some people so I won't spoil it for u guys, I'll just say that in the last song, "cow", all band members collaberate to produce a killer drum solo with dale finally getting the help he needs to become a decent drummer.  if I'm not mistaken they took the 2 drummer thing further and, as mentioned, all band members played on one drum kit together!!!  dale was playing bass drum (about the only thing he CAN play), coady was in charge of the snare, and Buzz, u won't believe it, was the "cymbal officer"!!! banging on these mother fuckers like there is no tomorrow...  crazy shit....
all in all, a really good album if u listen to it enough times...  I mean with song names like "zodiac", "ligature", and "if I had an exorcism" how can u go wrong???  also, the "promo" copy I just got in the (e)mail from (a) guy(?) called soulseek, (a) really funny fucker, had a spelling mistake, so song number 4 was spelled "it's shaved" instead of "it's shoved"... ah, funny...   so now after every time I shave my pubic hair I listen to that song, put the CD next to my penis and joyfuly shout "it's shaved"...  man, great albums sure make my day!!!
to conclude, defintely the best album of 2006, too bad some of u lame fuckers couldn't get ur hands on (a) promo copy...
Why say no to drugs when you can say yes?

Something different, shall we refer to the new album as A Senile Animal, without the brackets? I know it says '(A)'on the album cover, but it also says '(The) Melvins', so I assume the brackets are just part of the design, and are not part of the official album title. Also, on the Ipecac website it says A Senile Animal.

Civilised Worm is favourite so far. It sounds like cross between Maggot and HAT. I wish Buzzo's vocals were higher in the mix but generally the vocals work very well. I've only listened it three times and I am starting to like it already

Got my promo copy last night (thanks mackle).

Notes of import (ie. theories):
- All music was written by KingB. I don't think Jared or Coady had a say on the music. Its not necessarily their style. It is pure KingB though
- KingB's guitar tone has changed. This is probably to accomodate Jared's bass tone/style
- The song style seems a little classic, like if you put Ozma or Gluey Porch on 45rpm instead of 33rpm
- Gems so far: The Talking Horse, Civilized Worm, A History of Bad Men
- Does Civilized Worm remind you guys of With Teeth off of Lysol?
- When the hell did KingB start using real lyrics? Have I not listened to the Melvins in that long?!?
- Girls don't appreciate you listening to the new album with headphones on while attempting to have sex with them. I didn't get to listen to the album until this morning...

Pros:
- Vocals are amazings. Jared backing KingB works really really well!!
- Two words: Double drums!
- Lyrics on A History of Bad Men are amazing. The melody for the vocals is really good too. Same goes for Civilized Worm.
- Heavy. They don't fuck around on this album. No crazy noise shit.
- No Kevin Rutmanis
- Good production

Cons:
- KingB's guitar tone has changed to something I would consider less powerful (just my opinion)
- Some of the songs aren't catching my attention. Maybe I can't keep up with them?

I would think the hardcore Melvins fans will really dig this album. I'm not sure I would say this album would make the Melvins more accessible. Maybe more listens will change my mind on that.

I do like this album and have been waiting for it since last year. Its Christmas in August!

Pros:

- No Kevin Rutmanis

Jared is a great bass player, but Kevin was amazing...and I'm sure I'm not going to be the only one that will miss him. I don't see how not having him on the album could EVER be a PRO.

Yep.

Maybe.

I took me a few days to finally get to listen to it.
