got mine yesterday.   if, by some strange chance, i DID have the DL leak, hypothetically speaking of course, I would have to say the actual hard copy sounds better.     strange, but true,  IN a hypothetical world.

canadian release date has been pushed back again. Amazon.ca has it as the 24th of october. End hits(local punk/metal/indie record store) has it as the 31st.

I hope it's released on the 24th but I fear it will only be available for this stoned canadian on the 31st.

on a side note I picked up boris - akuma no uta today and holy shit. record blows my fucking mind.

I am extremely fucking pissed off! I'm in Canada too, once again, as I was on the 10th, I woke up this morning pumped up...the other day the canadian release date was on the 17th, then today I looked it up again to find its been fucking pushed again. Jesus titfucking christ!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hear where your coming from rob.  but I don't know if any true melvins officianado would answer the question of "why do you like the melvins?" with "because they are experimental.".

I don't think the loser-fanboys that hang out around here would call the melvins experimental. we (oh shit, I just included myself as a loser fanboy) would probably say the melvins are the melvins.  just as I don't think buzz osborne would say he releases experimental albums.  he would just say he releases melvins albums.   they aren't considered to be any less than or any different than any other melvins release.   the cataloge as a whole encompases the melvins sound.

this is why the melvins are like no other band and the fans are like no other fans.  its a culture in itself.
not "heavy metal" or "rock" or "experimental" or whatever.   its MELVINS.    defying explanation since 1983.     

now get your ass out there and buy Collosus of Destiny.

It will not hit the shelves until the 27th around here. But Ipecac release dates somehow get pushed back all the time, so I already kind of sadly expected this.
When it finally arrives, I think I will invite the mailwoman to come in for a hot coffee and a ASA listening session.
