ok, I havent heard Danny talk that much(besides an interview a year ago), and I think that chuckle sounds like the Buzzmeister. but you know, "Im not going to debate you on this Jerry, Im not going to debate".

Im wondering who took the lead role in writing this song? it kind of sounds like the melvins barely did anything on this track... the ambience it starts with and then im thinking dale does strokes on his tom as danny fills the gap for him... It seems like tool did alot of filling in big gaps in this song... does anybody really know who does what?.. besides the drumming.
epic song by the way.

Dale was in the process of getting a divorce from the belly button above.

That was the driving force to the creativity. He is even given credit for the composition Dale Crover/Melvins.

"Free" I think is Lori's retaliation a year later.

the electronics could have been done by buzz or adam, as they are the whizkids of Colossus of Destiny (aka Noiseland Arcade).
obviously dale is playing drums in one speaker, and danny carey in the other.
do ya think justin chancellor is playing bass in it? i don't think so.
that could easily be buzz or a melvin on bass.
of course the guitars are a combo of adam recording different guitar tracks, hell buzz might have even thrown in some lead guitar, but overall it's adam's riff prolly.
and last but not least, it could be maynard doing the screaming vocals..i mean... didn't maynard also do the "little pig, little pig, let me in..." line from Green Jelly's 3 Little Pigs?

at the end of Divorced you can hear maynard, and danny or buzz, talking about some shit...

I think he did the "not by the hairs on my chinny chin chin" part.

Dale and Maureen make much better sense as a couple, look at their darling little daughter. I love Dale.

Makes me smile everytime.

We all do. 8)

"Divorced" is one hell of a song.  I'm listening to it right now.  I have no idea who's playing bass to be honest but I know that the drum duel part is legendary.  You can actually spot the different styles of drumming... so cool.

Have you seen the bridge?  I ain't seen the bridge!  Where's that confounded bridge?!

neither one of the voices at the end sound like buzz to me, I thought it was maynard and danny or at least one tool talking to another

Adam's girlfriend Camilla performs the screams. She has a website somewhere, and that's one of the credits she lists.
