And everybody knows musicians never lie in interviews.  :|

It's been stated several times, and we also know Kurt Cobain was using. Would you rather believe Cobain was on top of his abilities during the Houdini recordings?

my input is i like the basslines and energy in teet
...
hey rictus is that quote
Nothing Is True - Everything Is Permitted...

from burroughs city of red nights or is it actually someones sentiment. a brilliant book, very dark. i always thought burroughs made up all those philosiphies but now i'm wondering are they quoted?
just wondering.
i say i can't, but i really mean i won't.

MIVSY

it's burroughs quoting hassan i sabbah, aka the old man on the mount. burroughs talks about him frequently in his writings and lectures.

ManWithNoName

not to... divorce... this thread but... I read the first two of that trilogy and had to take a break. I loved both books but I got tired of reading about purple mushrooms.

rictus

This is waaaayyyy off topic but, Burroughs is said to have gotten that quote from Hassan-i Sabbah(leader of The Order of Assassins). It was supposedly his last words or something.

A few posts up someone had said that they read that Cobain had wrote songs, played bass, and guitar on Houdini in an interview. I don't believe Cobain did jack shit on that album myself but, I was just sayin', don't always believe everything you read.

Also a large influence on the most recent Isis album, In The Absence Of Truth

So bringing this back to Divorced (and I'm sure this has probably been discussed in the past on a different thread somewhere), what's everyone's opinion on which drummer is which.  I used to think that the drummer panned right sounds more like Danny Carey and the left sounds more like Dale, but the toms sound way bigger on the right, and Danny Carey plays relatively small toms, while Dale of course plays massive toms.  What's everyone think?  Also, do you think they played off of each other live in the studio or were recorded separate.  It sounds too organic to me to have been recorded separate from one another...

it is pretty obvious wich one is wich... danny has a wristy kind of bounce with his drums... dale is just dale.

very true
I have brought the great ball of crystal;
            Who can lift it?
Can you enter the great acorn of light?
But the beauty is not the madness
Tho' my errors and wrecks lie about me.
And I am not a demigod,
I cannot make it cohere.
