Gluey/Ozma: Seperated, I'd give Ozma a 6 and Gluey a 5. Together, as in "Ozma then GPT" like the CD, I gotta give it a 8

Your Choice Live Series: 3/10 Meh. Didn't like it that much. Bad quality live.

Bullhead: 9/10. All around solid album, pretty much all classics, though bad recording quality.


Eggnog: 7/10. Three good songs, one wanky noise fest. I guess it's a good wanky noise fest though.


King Buzzo: 4/10. I really like the first song, for the beat. That's about it.

Dale Crover: 2/10
Joe Preston:  2/10 For the both of them good for novelty, not much else.


Lysol:  8/10. I liked it a lot more back in the day. First song is great, With Teeth is great. Not a Sacrifice fan.

Houdini: 8/10 I really enjoy this one, save for the noise fests.

Prick: 2/10. Can appreciate the idea, that's about it.

Stoner Witch: 9/10 Mainstream, yet Melvinsy. Love it.

Stag: 10/10 Solid all around.

Honky: 4/10. Too much wanky indulgence.

Hostile Ambient Takeover: 10/10 Amazing my favorite Melvins album, period.

Never Breathe What You Can't See: 8/10. Good change of pace, excellent live show.

Sieg Howdy!: 5/10 I'm peeved this was the version of Halo they went with.

Interesting to see such contrary ratings compared to what my own would be. That people can rate The Crybaby 10/10 and Mangled Demos 1/10 is beyond me.

I think it's kinda cool to see the different tastes.. Just to comment on your list turnacus, as an example;  I for one would rate the Dale Crover Ep higher, in my opinion it's a solid EP with four really good songs on it. Same goes for 10 songs, it was one of my first Melvins albums and totally blew me away, still does.  I agree with POTRE, it's great.  I think it flows unbelievably well..  there's this scary atmosphere throughout the whole album, plus some great Melvins tunes here and there.

I could go on and on.. maybe I should try to do a list as well, just for the hell of it.  I've never really thought about that before though.  It would be pretty difficult

Mangled Demos from 1983: 7/10 excellent recording quality compared to Ozma or Bullhead. love the energy of this one.

6 Songs / 10 Songs / 26 Songs: 6/10 The first six songs are really good, i think, but the rest are pretty much forgettable.

Gluey Porch Treatments: 9/10 this one is downright monolithic.

Ozma: 5/10 Not one of my favorites. Has some really good songs, but some really horrible production.

Your Choice Live Series: 6 /10 i prefer this one to Ozma or Bullhead, simply because the songs sound better live.

Bullhead: 5/10. I have mixed feelings about Bullhead. Its got some of their best songs, such as Boris and Your Blessened, but the drums sound like shit. Awful production.

Eggnog: 8/10.  awesome album.

King Buzzo: 6/10. i think the idea was good, but i dont think the solo eps are essential.

Dale Crover: 6/10 best of the three.

Joe Preston:  1/10 No thanks.

Lysol:  10/10. Excellent!

Houdini: 8/10 i like nearly all the songs here.

Prick: 7/10.  interesting. good to listen to once in a while.

Stoner Witch: 10/10 love it. excellent drumming, songwriting, etc.

I mean, it's completely subjective. Compared to most other records, I'd probably rate the Crover album above them, I am rating in the context of the Melvins. Meaning, after seeing what the Melvins can do, I judge them by higher standards.
