Don't get me wrong creep, I liked a few songs on it like Ggiibbyy, I even made mp3s of the
whole CD so I have a copy still. But I sold it for $80 so that was a good deal.

Yep,  I think some of the songs on the singles 1-12 are real gems,  for example Lexicon Devil and Way of the World.

I agree with Singles 1-12, there's ALOT of throw-aways on there.

But,  I think Ggiibbyy is great no matter what they wrote in the booklet.

Hahaha things to hate ... I preface this w/ the Melvins have been my fave band since 1st hearin' 'em in '86 ... it's been a long ride ... a great ride ... but of course there is always bumps ...

1.  I lean towards older & newer Melvins ... mid period (Atlantic) is a bit ... uggg
      Hard to explain ... Those are great records ... just my least fave Melvins. They
      have a quirky thing that rubs me wrong (Satan's Sideshow?). A friend who had
      only heard those albums said some of it reminded him of Primus. I can hear what he
      ment ... and man Primus are freakin' terrible!! That era had Mark  my least fave   
      bassist ... hard to explain ... it was the times. I hated how the band I loved for yrs.
      was co-opted by that whole grunge/alternative mess ... to me they came from the
      punk/hardcore world ... grunge/alternative/Loolapalooza wasn't punk. Sure I loved
      it at first, but by 1993 ... ewww ... totally checked out of that scene ... God! I once
      paid to see White Zombie just so I could see the Melvins for $30mins. That was sad.

2. As someone else mentioned, the short live sets ... 1hr. ??? C'mon whats' 30mins. more?
     Hell an' hour an' a half more. The 2x4 tour was awsome ... 2 sets!! Man, that was great!
     They should revive that approach. The 'evening w/ Melvins' tour 3 sets! That was even
     cooler! Since 2000 this has been a sore point 'cause as a Canadian I'm forced to drive
     hundreds of miles every yr. to see 'em ... 8hr. (16round) drive vs 1hr. show?

3. That they don't play Canada. I live in Toronto and have been seeing quality gigs by
     heaps of international bands for over 25yrs. Every other band seems to manage.
     And I'm not talking rich rock stars ... indie bands ... I donno Wolf Eyes play here
     pretty frequently and they bring tons of merch w/ 'em everytime. Isn't that Buzz's
     beef ... taxes on merch?

4. The Bassist curse ... actually one of my favorite elements as well, huh weird. Sucks
      how ya fall in w/ a certain line up or someones style ... then boom!! Adios douche bag!
      Kev was freakin' awsome ... such a great fit ... I loved his playing ... like being seasick!
      But on the other hand they always (well 'cept. w/ Mark) pull the rabbit outta the hat,
      and then the new line up is just as massive ... I actually think it probably helps keep 'em
      fresh and interesting yr. affter yr.  ***I love in Brian's interview how Buzz says they
      canned every bassist 'cause they just didn't like 'em personally anymore ... not like
      every other bands amicable split/musical differences bullshit ... yeah, that was funny!

I love it all.  I guess my biggest complaint would be the Big Band album.  Only half the set is on the album and the bass is buried in the mix.  I still really like that album though.  I'm hoping this dvd will be what Millenium Monsterwork could have been.

I did the same thing......I didn't mind seeing Babes In Toyland either though.  both much better than white zombie.

Leech (I mostly don't care for the songs except a handful. Plus it's a shitty bootleg.)
Your Choice Live (Except for Eye Flys & Anaconda, I just don't care for it.)
Millenium Monsterwork (For Obvious reasons.)
About half of Stag... (I guess 16 tracks of Melvins is a bit much.)

I'm tempted to say the way they do their live sets, but one thing I love about their live shows is the live sets are always missing a couple songs. Like, if it had just that one or two more, it'd be THE live set to hear, maaaaaaan!

I was at the show in Athens in 06 and I was talking to this guy in the merchandise line and I just thought I'd ask what his favorite album was and of course he said, "Houdini."

I would have to say my least favortie melvins thing was them having leif garrett do a reneition of smells like teen spirit.. I saw him do it live in olympia on their 2x4 tour....it was ridiculous

I absolutely love every record/song they have produced ... which is why my 'least favourite thing that the Melvins do' is have too many support bands at their gigs - the Melv's always end up playing far too late - so I only get to see about twenty mins' of them playing before I have to run for the last train home and I spend the journey wondering which of my favourite tracks I've missed.  The first time I saw hem play live - their support had pulled out - so they went on earlier and played a longer set (including all of LYSOL) which was by far the best gig I've ever been to of theirs.
