call me a homer but I'm thinking these albums will wind up with their place in MELVINS history.

will wind up? like hasn't happened yet? nude with boots and a senile animal are two of my favorite pieces of melvins history.

Agreed.  Plus I really, really love The Bride Screamed Murder.  It's not a personal favorite but I don't feel like it was in any way a weaker effort.  I can't wait for the next album.

Which Buzz said could be their last due to record companys being unable to afford studio costs and the lack of revenue due to illegal downloading. Well whatever happens it'll still be kick ass!!

As for NWB its flippin' great isnt it? (A)SA not far behind yet i find Bride to be a mixed bag. All in all they hold their ground up against some of the bigger achievements in the long and exotic discography.

I'm sure Buzz will keep cranking out tunes after the record industry collapses. He'll be unable to resist. Look foward to to tracking down super-limited 8-track runs released only in the southern hemisphere.

I'm under the impression he means that all albums will be limited edition, like the box set, in the future.  We'll see what happens.

I just listened to this album and felt the need to comment on it. This is a great album. I like Bride and Senile Animal better, but this album still kicks ass. Suicide In Progress, Nude With Boots, The Smiling Cobra, Dog Island, The Savage Hippy, and the Kicking Machine are stellar tracks. They should do The Savage Hippy live. Dies Irae has a great atmosphere and is amazing live, It Tastes Better Than The Truth is creepy as fuck, The Stupid Creep is a cute little song, and Billy Fish shines live. Flush is ok.  :?

This video made me appreciate Billy Fish even more:

Looking at buying this on vinyl, and was just curious as to what colors this was originally pressed on. Ever since I got stuck with one of those red vinyl Houdinis (Houdinies?) I've been trying to be more cautious about buying vinyl.

Nude With Boots hasn't been bootlegged so you should be safe. The first vinyl pressing was warped, though, so if you want an LP you can actually play, I'd suggest the second press. This is distinguished by "JK02" written on the back sleeve. It's red vinyl.

"Nude With Boots" Limited Edition Vinyl Manufacturing Problem
Nov. 6, 2009

Hey folks. We are very sorry to hear that there has been a manufacturing snafu of some sort and some of you that have purchased the Melvins "Nude With Boots" limited edition vinyl have gotten warped copies. We are trying to get to the bottom of this, in the meantime, if you have a severely warped copy please return it to the place you got it for a refund or exchange. VERY sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks for your patience and loyalty!

Thanks a million Jules!

Ok so I will admit to being a bigger fan of Melvins before BB although I've always liked and appreciated the newer stuff too.I really dig Bull and Bees and Senile Animal, and even most of Bride Screamed Murder....but the one album I've never cared about much was this one. Recently I learned about the Ipecac Red Vinyl and what ones are warped vs one what to buy (Thanks Jules!) ...so I saw one cheap on Ebay and nabbed it. Up till now I've only had some crappy mp3.  I'm only finishing side 1 at the moment and I am already writing this post to admit how fucking wrong I have been. It's most likely that hearing properly off the vinyl for first time is letting me truly hear the album. I can't wait to hear what a proper vinyl copy of Bulls & the Bees will sound like...and Freak Puke. Where are ya Amp Rep?!?  :P

I still don't like this.

I don't think it's the best BB one but you can't deny the album has lots of good songs...
