Taking a break.  So far Melvins 83 and BB have played.  Melvins 83 did a shorter set than the Jello 5-0 shows.  **EDIT**(I'm wrong about a shorter set.  Mike said it was exactly the same as the GAMH shows.)  I'll get a setlist later if I remember.  BB came next and as soon as Jared hit a note he blew his amp.  Five minutes later they get it fixed and get started.  No Toshi btw.  Normal set from BB.  After a few songs, Dale joins on guitar.  Finished with a crushing version of The Drift.

Sorry for being so vague, but I've been up for 32 hours + now.  Having a dinner of grapes, a Guiness, and some cigs. 

Watched some of The Dirtbombs, but had to come back to charge the camera batts.  ZU starts in 90 minutes.  Have to have a full battery for them and the Meat Puppets.

Other notes.  Met Maffy.  Dude looks exactly like Cheeseburger.  I did a double take.  It was weird. 

So far, everyone's been awesome.  Just like I figured.

On the bus ride here, had a group of little douche's sit next to me.  One started freaking out and I think passed out.  His friends told him to chill and he started yelling about the prick bus driver making him sick.  Which was true, the dude drove like a fucking maniac.

A few notes before bed. 

Zu was fucking awesome.  No other way to say it. 

The Meat Puppets played the hits and some other gems.  Finished with a 10 minute or so version of Lake of Fire.


Porn.  Porn Porn Porn.  One hour of Porn.  Dale and Coady on drums, Moss in his usual spot, Trevor Dunn on bass.  Oh, and Thurston Moore on another bass.  And the guy from Mastadon taking over for Moss for a while.  Can't remember his name, but the dude that got hurt and has a big tattoo on his head now.

They tell me Torche was awesome.  I missed them.

No.  The main stage room is huge.  HUGE.  There's 3 levels.  Each is maybe 3 feet higher than the last.  I set up right behind the soundboard on the 2nd level.  I's a ways back, but that's what zoom is for.  Watched a bit of the footage last night.  Sound is good.  For Zu, it's a bit loud and distorted, but only because they were too loud and distorted.  I had to shoot them from the side at the 2nd stage.  But the sound here is the BEST I've ever heard in any venue.  You can hear everything perfect from any angle. 



Oh, and yea, I think Lun does have a Butthole Surfers pic in that shot.  Didn't ask though.

A few more shots from last night.  Again, it's taking forever to upload photos to Photobucket because of the slow connection, so sorry for the limited pics.  I timed it, and it's taking about 10 minutes to upload one picture.  I don't have the patience to sit here for hours and upload shit right now.

Melvins just got done.  Same set as usual minus Honeybucket, My Generation, and Boris.  They ended with the SSB and that didn't sit well with some of the crowd.  No boo's, but some headshaking.  Dale started the set with a joke.  "What did one motherfucker say to the other motherfucker"?  "Hey motherfucker!" "Cuz that's what motherfuckers say to one another!".

Buzz was a bit more animated than normal.  Thanked everyone and later saluted the crowd.   

Can't say anymore than that really.  They sounded great, and were tight as usual.  I'll get pics up tonight or tomorrow.
