As well as that stupid dance of him :?

These are the things that make Kevin Kevin!

I love the slide bass and I second glens comment about The Fool. I couldn't imagine that song without the bass.
I recently noticed the same distorted slide bass like on HAT when I listened to Cows - Allergic to myself.
Damn, that was a nice experience.

My favourite bass player? Hard to tell.  Mark D played on STAG.  But I guess I'd say Kevin, after all he played on HAT.

Take everything I say here with a big sack of salt. I would never talk Kevin down, especially not his rhythmic moves.

Actually, Dale's ex wife is not the infamous Lorax. Lorax's real name was Lori Black, she is the daughter of a famous actress and she lived in a really nice house in S.F. a long long time ago. Previous to the Melvins thing her and Mark Duetrom had a punker band called Clown Alley a long long time ago.
I have enjoyed all of the bassists over the years, and here is why:

Matt Lukin: Wore a Void t-shirt  and had a checkerboard bass strap.

Lori: She had to stand on her tippy toes to turn on her double cabinet double head Ampeg set - up. The sound at the beginning of the "Ozma" record is the sound of her turning on her gear.

Tom Fynn: President of Boner Records. Used to be in Fang. That is enough right there, I think.

Joe Preston: an interesting fellow, could play any Confessor song on guitar.

Mark Duetrom: Cowboy hat, deadpan.

Kevin: nazi moustache, funny pants, generally looks insane. Three pretty good things.

I hope this was educational.

thats great

and im all for rutmanis
man taught me how to dance
i say i can't, but i really mean i won't.

Ah, okay then.  I couldn't understand anyway how someone could not like his famous dance. :)

kevin fit in perfectly with the melvins. for his personality alone he'll remain one of my favorite bassists.
from what i've read, joe seems to be kind of a jerk sometimes, but he's an awesome bassist.
then again mark d is an all-around awesome guy. it's too hard  to say.

grays harbor mafia

JARED!!!!!!! nobody even comes close!!!! the melvins set up now i think is the best its ever been!!!dale and coady, and Buzz and Buzz jr. i mean jared

Doody the Clown

Jared Warren, of course.  He has the same last name as me.

And the same name as my cousin.

And he rocks.

Greasy Statement

i'll give kevin big ups for being part of a particularly prolific and diverse period of the band and holding up like a champ. it sucked to see him go, but i'm really enjoying the beginning of the warren years. i like the fact that his role is more of a "lead bass" and he's got some awesome riffs and a killer tone....

perusha

Everyone is WRONG...

It's Dale Nixon of course...

Mad Arab

I think the next Melvins bassist will be the best.

They can't be all that good if they're getting kicked out left and right .

Okay, on a serious note, probably Mark D. or Jared.

Yes of course, Jared is great too, no doubt about that.
