I was just about to say the same thing.
but it can be very tempting...but who cares?

just write about something your teacher loves, and get a good grade.
Ive had to learn this a few times myself... and I still havent understood it myself...

which brings me to this one, have you overheard someone say
i just saw the new song by such and such? it should be heard!
i don't care if you saw the video, you heard the new song! you didn't
see the song. theres a difference.

how about when someone says:  "let me see that?" and puts their hand out.  my response is:  "do you see with your hands?    no?   THEN PUT YOUR FUCKING HAND DOWN!!"

man,  I need to chill.

seas of luck

I like the beat.  It's a lot of fun to play on drums.  For about 3 months it'd always be the first thing I play when I started playing drums.

Michael Jordan

yeah, it's a really simple beat to play on drums and realy easy and fun to improvise on, as dale does on live shows. however notice that that beat at the begining of HAT and the beat at the end of The fool are slightly different.
Why say no to drugs when you can say yes?

i've thought that it symbolizes how easy the music is for em.  during the keys part of the fool i thought he's saying "isn't this, isn't this simple"  and then the simple drum beat again.

or it could be that they're trying to show progression from easy drumbeats to black stooges to judas chongo to the culmination which is the fool, the meddling idiot.

damn h.a.t. is amazing

i never saw this.
i like it

:o   that was me

Vcavallo

haha!
i had no idea.

also, sort of off-topic:  when people change their avatars, i completely lose any sense of their personality.  i might really like someone, then they change their avatar and say one thing that annoys me and i forget who they were and start to hate them.  funny.

Dale played this same drum riff many times during the Melvins recent tour in Hoboken, but he never played it in Brooklyn. Weird. Such a signature sound for him. I can't believe this thread has been resurected.

the one that starts off the album.. and then appears in 2 other songs as well... what do you make of it? Could there possibly be any meanings (other than a cool beat)?

Ah, fuck it... I think I'm just talking out my butt...

but it is kinda wierd that it appears throughout the album. It's real subtle...

Wait.. It's in the intro to Black Stooges and The Fool, The Meddling Idiot... where else?

Kessel

Yeah, i didn't notice any other either.
For life is not happy.

Dr Geek

It doesn't sound like a stereotypical punk beat to me, it just sounds like a simple Dale Crover beat.
