although I realize it may get painful at times and the urge to click the little red x at the top right corner of your screen may get overwhelming.. I insist that you take the time to watch this video in its entirety.   this video can be used as an equal replacement to my post.

I'm still waiting on the ULTIMATE of ULTIMATE

Napalm Death/Sonic Youth/Melvins

the idea alone is enough to start a tingling in my nether-regions.

and as far as anselmo... all I know is I saw pantera about a million years ago and anselmo took 5 minutes of my time to rant about how black people thought they were better than everyone else. and "we" as white people should have more pride in ourselves and blah blah blah. it came across very...  segregational.
but anyway... anyone who uses their time between songs to say things like *imagine in a deep bad-ass voice*:  "I'm tired of you motherfuckers staring at me.   don't stare at me unless you want to fight.  and you'll lose.    I wanna see you motherfuckers go crazy out there."
sounds somewhat ignorant.  wether they are or not, they sound it.
does this sound even remotely like the mentality of MELVINS?   this is why I say its a strange combination.  not just musically, but philosophically.

*another trivial post since if it happens I will be throwing my money at it*

I always thought that was just apart of Pantera's image. Tongue and cheek kind of way...you know Pantera in the 80's then they changed to this aggressive tough-guy band. just an image.

Maybe the rest of the band was like that...but Phil actually takes this tough guy act seriously and doesn't realise it.

Phil comes across as a huge dickhead (although in recent interviews I have seen he is definitely more humble), but that bieng said, I do like the bands he's been in (Pantera, Down, Arson Anthem).  From a crowd standponit though, a Melvins + Down show is just asking for trouble.

Maybe the Melvins could do a wall of death.

IrvingtonFoster

that would be a weird combo.  i enjoy both bands, but all the wannabe tough guy anselmo fanatics are definitely annoying.  Jimmy Bower and Kirk Windstein are cool though.
slow and low, that is the tempo

I met Kirk Windstein at a english style pub in Metairie, Louisiana once.  Really really nice guy.  Also, I just google'd  him and found out we share a birthday.

How about Chuck Norris and The Melvins?

Chuck Norris doesn't play guitar.  He stares it down until it makes the music he wants to hear.

Phil is indeed a dickhead.
