Read that again farty.  That's a MINUS White Zombie.  I did deal with their boneheads and their awful pre-recorded tracks.  Sorry if that wasn't clearer.  Make no mistake, I'm not a fan.

Am i the only person here who likes Melvins and Down equally???  They're both great bands, okay perhaps Melvins are a tad more awesome and certainly the more adventurous but Down have good points too. I kinda agree with the fan mentality thing tho. Alot of Down fans (or perhaps more those who were previosuly Pantera diehards) do seem to have the whole Dimebag thing going on, plus would on the whole be more aggressive in nature than Melvins fans. Although that ain't to say that there aren't sweet natured folk who like them either. On the point of Anselmo being a racist he really isn't. That whole thing was blown up by the media. Alot of those things that were said or wrote about were miss- interpretated. Watch Phil in interviews nowadays and you can see he's a changed man. More humble, more considerate. I've seen countless shows were he's stopped the band to check if someone in the audience is okay and certainly with Down its all about creating a family vibe to just enjoy the show. I'd love to see a Melvins/Down gig although i doubt it will ever happen.

the idea alone is enough to start a tingling in my nether-regions.

and as far as anselmo... all I know is I saw pantera about a million years ago and anselmo took 5 minutes of my time to rant about how black people thought they were better than everyone else. and "we" as white people should have more pride in ourselves and blah blah blah. it came across very...  segregational.     
but anyway... anyone who uses their time between songs to say things like *imagine in a deep bad-ass voice*:  "I'm tired of you motherfuckers staring at me.   don't stare at me unless you want to fight.  and you'll lose.    I wanna see you motherfuckers go crazy out there."
sounds somewhat ignorant.  wether they are or not, they sound it.   
does this sound even remotely like the mentality of MELVINS?   this is why I say its a strange combination.  not just musically, but philosophically.
