What/Where/When was your first Melvins show?

i was pretty late to the game. saw them in the summer of 2003 as part of the geek tour with tomahawk and kaada. the melvins easily left the biggest impression that night, didnt quite know what to expect, but whatever it was, it was so much more. the rest if history, ive seen them at least 10x after that

My first was the 2000 tour with DSS and Leif Garrett at the Showbox in Seattle.  Leif Garrett was trashed as hell and screamed "Smells Like Teen Spirit Seattle" right before the song.  Krist Novoselic came out on stage after the encore to join the band for their final bow.  I think the next show I went to was on the HAT tour at the tiny Hell's Kitchen in Tacoma.  I was two feet from Kevin while he worked his magical slide bass.  Pretty much seen 'em every time they've come through the Seattle area ever since, excluding the recent Showbox SoDo show with Down.  The combination of venue and lineup was enough to skip it, especially having just seen the Houdini show with Trevor Dunn a couple months prior.

I was pretty late actually.  I saw them for the first time in 2007, Hamburg -  Melvins/Big Biz/Porn.  It was amazing.  I had already been into them for quite a while and that show totally blew me away.  I saw them twice so far, my last time was in September 2008.    They really need to tour Europe again soon.

My 1st time was when they opened for Tool in Omaha in '98.  My brother bought me a ticket for the show.  I remember loving it but I wasn't really listening to any rock and roll at the time so I didn't really get into them until 2004 when I heard Houdini played at a bar.  I went out and bought the album the next day and I've seen them 5 times since then.  I've only missed 2 Chicago shows since '04.

I'm a late bloomer. Trees, Dallas, June 2002. Hostile Ambient Takeover tour. Buzz, Dale and KEVIN were in top form. I bought a t-shirt. My only melvins t-shirt. I'm ashamed to admit it's also the only time (so far) I've seen the melvins.

now I don't feel quite as embarrassed at only having seen them 3 times.

i have seen them 4 times only and one of these was Fantomas+Melvins,another time i missed almost half of the show

Essen Germany in 1997 when Honky came out. I just got into them from watching the wah wah special on viva tv. They opened for a really boring band  and looked pretty much pissed off. People weren`t into them at all and screamed for the headliner. Mark D looked totally stoned. They played a really short set (about 7 songs) and left. I remember being completely overwhelmed by the songs.

First time I saw them was in Nashville, TN in Fall of 1991.

They played in a little Indian restaurant on West End.

Joe played bass.

They opened with Charmicarmicat and followed with It's Shoved. Other songs I remember: Eye Flys, Boris, Euthanasia.

The set ended abruptly when Buzz passed out during a song and stayed on the floor for a few minutes.
