Cool, happy i got it, because I bought it randomly without knowing anything about it. And I know they played Let it All Be live because alot of the crowd was singing the "the nature of my soul" part and the bass line cant be forgotten.

seas of luck

The Bootlicker is a great album.  I can't see why anyone would hate it and that goes for people who don't like the Melvins.  Then again, I don't see why anyone would hate the Melvins.

The Trilogy is great.  The Maggot is the heavy album, The Bootlicker is the laid back album, and The Crybaby is more experimental with at least one guest musician on every song.

My assumption is that tou're gonna be highly dissapointed the first time you've heard it.

As u do with almost any melvins album until u listen to it again... and again..  and again... and again...   and then it hits you - this is the greatest shit u've ever heard in ur life -->  ur addicted!!!
Why say no to drugs when you can say yes?

Snajdan

I like it, It doesnt even sound like the same band. Completely different then anything I ever heard from them.

I always wondered if Jew Boy Flower Head was a knock on the Didjits guy.

They did after all have a song called Killboy Powerhead.

So did offspring off the album smash, I loved that cd when I was just a wee fucker.

I've been relistening the Trilogy today and I had forgotten how good Bootlicker actually is. I still like Maggot better though....and Snajdan, if you like Bootlicker you'll like the rest of their 25+ albums too so start saving  8)

a sharp thing

Bootlicker may not be the best album to start off on The Melvins with, as it's completely different as a whole than any of their other albums. It's a great CD with killer basslines.

Vcavallo

he did say GPT may be the best album ever.
i think he'll get along fine no matter which album he starts on  :D

I love the Bootlicker and recommend that you get the Maggot and the Crybaby.  The Trilogy is better as a whole.

Mad Arab

I prefer the live version of Let It All Be to the studio version. The live version gives it a certain amount of muscle that is absent from the original.

"The way you take the muscle from the song and kind of swing it."
