Disagreed. I'm not really into the production, but some of the songs on it are among the best Melvins' stuff, right up there with Stoner witch and Stag

Kurva

you know what?
id like to hear the songs off of maggot in a 10 songs sound
maggot sounds...... tooo..... metal to me

(fuck i hate 'stupid metal'. its so goddamn boring. even death, black metal, or grind....... omg... boooooring...)

but dont get me wrong, its not like i dont like the maggot songs..

curious

so you're saying that the guitar tones should be a little less punchy?  and less heavy?

Let me guess, you're a Merzbow "fan", right?

I am a merzbow 'fan'.  but I like SOME metal.  but i don't know if you'd call it metal.  dillinger e.p., meshuggah...  complicatedcore is more like it.

TosT

there's way too many categories for music these days...

the maggot is great because it doesn't really sound like the other albums though

Kurva

i dont know what is a merzbow
little less punchy? no no, i like the songs (theyre not my favorite though) but the sound isnt exactly my taste
they all sound the same

thats the only thing i dont like about the maggot
i like Amazon very much, We All Love Judy, The Horn Bearer, See How Pretty, See How Smart is a great track

could someone tell me, why are the songs like this:
.....
5. We All Love Judy
6. We All Love Judy
7. Manky
8. Manky
....etc
?

each song is split into two tracks

Vcavallo

because it's the goddamn melvins, man, and they are crazy fucks.  or maybe it's so you can skip to the middle if you like it there.  the middle is warm and cozy.  i think that i have problems because i think about sex way too much.  i will just barely zip my pants up and then i look at her and want her again.  is there something wrong with me?

I was only being faceious, Buck. His comments just sounded so much like an elitist avant garde/noise fan I know... :D

Hello! I have a question about 10 songs. I always thought Gluey Porch treatments were Melvins debut album. Then in 91 (?) C/Z issued the 8/10 songs album/cd. However, was this record originally released in 86??? I know about the 6 songs ep released in 86 (different recordings). Was the 91 record the first time those other exact RECORDINGS  were released and if that's the case, why do people refer to 10 songs as Melvins debut album?

jakob

I know that the 10 songs versions were recorded in 86...

I found a new copy of 10 songs in a record store 2 years ago. Pretty weird.
