Digipaks are awesome, what are you talking about?
Personally I find the jewel cases simply boring
Yes i agree with you. Digipacks do tend to be better. More durable and aesthetically far more pleasing to the eye and wonderfully tactile. I think being that the art is ON the packaging rather than shoved into it like in a jewel case helps to create a greater sense of specialness to a release. It feels more "artefact" like and integral rather than just something functional to house a CD.
Exactly! Couldn't have said it better myself.

Now I wonder what the Ipecac vinyl edition will be like?

And wow, this packaging is really cool.

Also, does ? refer to The Hesitation Twist or is that a bonus track or something?
You got it! That's it (Hesitation Twist). Strange. Maybe he didn't feel like telling them (the site that streamed it, I can't remember) that the title was "?". To add layers of mystery. Yeah, that's the ticket!  :)

Didn't you guys get the memo from Pitchfork?

Once again keeping their trend of rating every Melvins related release below a 7.
My favorite lines of the review...

"What lies behind Osborne's sudden urge to make and a folk record?"

and

"Osborne deserves a lot of credit for keeping the album a truly acoustic affair—but, eventually, the skeletal sameness becomes more numbing than a million Melvins riffs stacked end on end."

Hmmm....a million Melvins riffs stacked end on end sounds like a brilliant idea

I'm not so inclined to buy the vinyl now since the CD is digipak(mini-LP style). If it was standard CD case definitely, but the digpak artwork is excellent on it's own. So bad marketing move for Ipecac. UNLESS the Ipecac vinyl is 2LP with the bonus acoustic Melvins tracks .

How is putting out the vinyl a bad marketing move?  Apples and oranges.

No, I meant making the CD packaging all fancy is a bad move with the vinyl coming right around the corner. Sure the completists will buy the vinyl, but just the CD is fine with me. I usually only buy vinyl + CD if there are extra tracks and/or extended artwork.

New River
The Ripping Driving
The Spoiled Brat
Useless King Of The Punks

= Fucking Awesome

Yeah totally, these are stand out tracks. Useless King Of The Punks is one of the catchiest songs Buzz has ever written. I think my favorite is Instrument Of God, though.

My favorite is "Useless King of the Punks." What do you guys think that song is about? I've got an idea- and it's the most obvious idea, so it is probably wrong.

So when does the Ipecac LP come out?
One UK site had it for pre order, said early August.

Yep. I'd pick these three!

Laid Back Walking
Drunken Baby
Instrument Of God

Another song I think is really great is The Vulgar Joke. I'm surprised I forgot to mention that one.

Cobain seems like a likely contender.  :-k
