Buzz talks between songs mostly during acoustic sets..the acoustic tour was simply brilliant,i was lucky enough to catch it and i must say the stories were perfect for the intimate atmosphere of the set. i doubt Dale was pissed for Buzz talking,they work so well together

i know what you mean,i've always been a fan of the fact Melvins weren't too much for encores or for talking with the crowd. but i can definitely see the point of telling stories during an acoustic set. especially when you're are an intelligent guy with a cool sense of humour like Buzzo

I find it interesting that he has mentioned a few times about how he sees the band performing live as a piece of art. As a complete show experience where the setlist is carefully assembled and purposely considered from start to finish. To then go and puncture that sealed world and intention with off the cuff and wayward ramblings seems a little contradictory to the objective to me at least. Although i guess the rambles could be just as much a part of it as the songs to him.

Now Keith Morris and his "Let me catch my breath while I tell you a long winded story about being in Black Flag" bits are quite boring!!! Nowhere near the joy I get when Buzz rambles on.

I don't think Dale was pissed at all. You can tell though that he just wants to rock. I think when Buzz gets that acoustic in his hands he wants to start telling stories. There are a few moments though were you can see the annoyance on Dales face. That being said it's not like he kick the drums over and peaced out. Also from what I've seen the little Hold It In tour was back to the basics, all rock, no talk. To me Dale just seemed antsy during all the talking. Remember he's the shy one.

What's funny about that is that was the first time I ever heard banter from Buzz. I remember it vividly. It was the first time I saw them here in MPLS.

I'd rather hear music. He's really funny and all,
but I'm watching all of his interviews on YouTube, anyway.
Maybe Joe six pack next to me is quite tickled to hear this stuff,
but I knew the Patton story was coming, I hit the bathroom and the bar,
made it back for the other 3/4 of the story.
The most I've heard them talk was;
the Stag show, where I got my quotes in my signature \/
the Maggot tour, when Buzz told the audience that"nobody better mess with me after the show,
      because I'm a happily married man. 
the Freak Puke tour, which went on so long that Dale was begging the audience to stop egging
      Buzz on by talking to him (he was talking about how they broke their record for the most
      shows in a row).

Dale probably just wants to get back to his family. As a non-parent i guess Buzz is in no rush to get back home.

Dale's wife and kids were at the show. Long live the on-stage rantings of King Buzzo! One of my favorites is when a fight broke out at the 20th Anniversary Show in Olympia after a jackass jumped on stage. Buzz told people to "Take their violence to the streets!". That and the "You like Hogan's Heroes?" bit on the live in Germany album!
