yea, im with 'pringles' here. (which i thought was the lovely marilyn at first because of the logo...what a let down).  i've listened to ozma/gpt more times than i could possibly begin to count.  sometimes many times in one day.  i can never get tired of them.  and you people saying ozma has shitty production, i am listening to it now and you kinda ruined it for me you fuckholes... until i TURNED THE VOLUMED UP.  that did the trick.  simple step to curing all production problems.  (sure, dale's snare is a little tinny, but come on, any album with song writing like OVEN on it is un-beatable.  there are like 2 chords in that song.  buzz is a fucking genius.  oven oven oven.  oven me.)

i havnt heared much of the melvins because im a new fan but the 2 cds i have are great. I have bullhead and houdini. IMO Bullhead is better but houdini is still a sik album. Tunes like sky pup, set me straight, night goat, honey bucket, lizzy, copache, but my favorite on that album is definatly joan of arc!! I love it when buzz wails in that tune and also in night goat. Is this known as one of the better/more sucsessful melvins cds? Is it one of ur favorites?

Hmm no one has replied to this yet and I just registered as a member. Houdini's pretty cool but I'm not as into it as Stoner Witch, and in turn I'm much more into Houdini than Prick. Just to respond specifically to your comment though, I think "Hooch" might be my favorite Melvins song, and the song I listened to through Rhapsody that really got me into the Melvins. It's a cool album but a little bit creepy or sad when hearing Cobain's fairly obvious influence in the song Sky Pup.

Houdini is one of my least favorite album.

Hooch: good song, I like the guitar on the chorus chorus and the way buzz sing during the chorus. One of my favorite song on Houdini.

Night goat: A classy for msot of the people. But I think it repeat to much. I usually skip it.

Lizzy: Good song, but normal. Not a classic.

Going Blind: good cover, but I dont really like it.

Honey Bucket: A classic. When I have someone who dont know the melvins and he want to hear them, I play this song.

Hag Me: Long stoner song. Its good.

Set Me Straight: Sound like a song from The beatles. I like it but usually skip it. Its like the Pop song of the melvins. We get tired of it pretty fast.

Sky Pup: My favorite song on Houdini. I cant get tired of sky pop. It just groove like a psycho hendrix song.

Joan Of Arc: I dont really like it. My least favorite after Spread eagle beagle

Teet: I like this song. One of my favorite on Houdini. I like the mood of the song.

Copache: Great song, the solo give me shiver everytime

Pearl Bomb: I like it. I play it on bass often.

Spread Eagle Beagle: Shitty song, I dont like it.

Houdini is one of my least favourite albums too, but it's the melvins and still kicks a whole lot of ass.

set me straight it one of their only songs that i don't really enjoy too much, it's kind of dull.. that one drags the album down for me

Hey welcome to the Board.  As dead as it is, or seems to be, it's a great place to connect with other melvin's fans, and rave on about the last show you saw, and what the fuk is wrong with kevin.  All that stuff1  Right here1 Right now! 24/7 if anyone's paying attention.
 I've been gone - Ran away from home again, this time for 3 weeks.  yeah - Indian Summer in no. California.  it was sweet wow- when i got home i felt so wierd - like i didn't really belong here (i mean in Seattle - where i live)
 Houdini is a Great Album.  Yeah - it really is.  i believe it was the last of the 3 "Atlantic Records" Deal.  Big Budget - Lavish Production.
You can see where Cobain found some of his own inspiration.  Soundgarden (Early - Louder than Love, Badmotorfinger - also had a huge influence on Cobain.  But...
 Back to the melvins.
 Buzzo is Not a God - I believe he is a Boddhisattva- what he's sharing with us is Art - music - Montesano Metal, whatever.  i love it it's all Good.
the live performances are the Best of All.  Make the Effort - You won't regret it.
 My favorite Melvin's album?  that kinda Rotates.  Most recently it has been "Honky"  which was also my latest acquisition.
Before that - Stoner Witch - ElectroRetard - Hostile Ambient Takeover (gets my vote for masterpiece)  Colossus of Destiny - of course it all started out for me with Gluey Porch Treatments.  
 if Kevin needs a "Vacation" for health reasons (Please come back Kevin you are Definitely the Best and most Creative Bass player the melvins have ever had - Lorax used to be my favo.  Kevin it's you now)
 I hope Buzzo can talk melissa Auf dermaeur into covering the Bass slot.  She could play Topless in her panties and continue the melvins tradition of ???.
