don't hang me with your forcefield (?)

no, prick is the worst melvins album. houdini's great, in my opinion. i didn't used to like going blind until recently. whenever i hear that song i sorta go into this trance. i just feel really calm and the song keeps moving really well. it's like my brain just turns off or something. the only thing i don't like about it is that guitar solo. of course, it is not played by buzz. otherwise it would've been great.

Jess

don't hag me with your forsquee?

Actually, Houdini was the last of their (theMelvins) Atlantic Records deal.
They got a lot of money ($xxx,000) from Atlantic back in "91  and made 3 records for them.
These were "Big Budget" Productions for Buzz.
I like houdini.  There's some great stuff on there.
They're all Good.
Colossus of Destiny (60 minutes of ?)  man i love that.  Really.
you have to be a good listener.  anybody who digs the melvins must be a good listener, non?

Don't be ridiculous. If anything the variety of Prick is more appealing to me than  the repetition and shit production of Ozma. There's a lot on Prick to get lost in if you give it the time. Chief Ten Beers f'rinstance, and Roll Another One can keep me entertained for hours... The whole album was fun. I think I just went at it with the idea in my head that it would be a pile of crap, and through the miracle of under-expectation was pleaseantly surprised. I prefer Prick to Collossus, too...

As for the Atlantic Melvins in general: it's their peak.

Quote from: BillIt just seems like it was thrown together; not much thought put into it.  Plus, "Going Blind' has to be my least favorite Melvins song - ever.  I don't know what it is, I just can't get into that album.  It's the only one I don't care for.  What do you think?

I don't agree at all !

This album is not from the "Atlantic" period and  its sonority is disgusting. It's true. But it 's a masterpiece !
