Look out! There were (at least) 2 pressings of Gluey on Alchemy. First one has Buzz' and Matt's names switched and the lay out is a bit different. Front of the sleeve and labels are identical.
To be afraid when you are alone, in the dark, faced with the unknown, the unspeakable; that is understandable fear. To be afraid, mortally afraid, in broad daylight, in a crowded city street, that is to know Melvins.

hm.  their name's are correct on mine.  so this is a second pressing?

Sweet. GPT is my favorite album.

How does it sound? I always wanted to play Eye fly with the turntable too fast.

thanks alot!  i really appreciate it, even if i hear often (which doesn't really happen.)  i should update the picture.  that was taken the day after and it is kinda slimy.
i think the bullhead cover would make an awesome tattoo.  i don't know if i'd have the baulls to cover my back with anything, but its a damn good candidate.

I have so many ideas of stuff I want ie Zappa's Mustache, the Gonzo fist & knife, the Monster Magnet bullgod, Carlin giving the finger.......but when it comes to a Melvins piece I am so undecided. The Houdini animals I think are far too cutesy, the Lysol cover would make an excellent backpiece. Stag has some excellent artwork, I was considering the Stag flower (the vinyl version, not the more skull-esque one on the CD version). Another one I was thinking was the embossed black symbol on the cover of Honky. What do you mooks think? Any idears?
Also melvins is gay cuz some of their songs are just noise, i tell you this so you all don't buy albums and find out only one two songs is good on them.

mumu

I wonder if you could just commision Mackie to do a piece?  Might be worth looking into.
It's all fucking good-dini as far as I'm concerned. Then again, I'd eat a MELVINS deep fried turd. GO MELVINS!!

I heard the skull from the singles is quite popular in Germany

Does anyone know for sure what year Gluey Porch Treatments originally came out on Alchemy?  I've heard conflicting reports that it came out in 86 and 87.  Let me know i'm still trying to get my discography sorted out.

Apparently it was recorded in September of '86 and a few months later they had the album in their hands, according to Buzz's commentary in the new release. That might be the reason for the confusion. I guess that puts the date between Dec or Jan or Feb maybe. Maybe November even.

Also some people near where they practiced had wild drunken parties and built huge bonfires that looked like something out of Lord of the Flies and they could practice as loud as they want because they were outside of town and next to a large river.

brian

yeah his commentary doesn't say for sure the exact month and year, i'm sure he's forgotten.  if anyone knows if it's late 86 or early 87 let me know.

The sleeve on the vinyl says "Recorded October 86" and the labels on the disc itself say
