great album, I wish they would play "Bar X The Rocking M" or "Buck Owens" live.

PrickHonky

This was the first of the more "experimental" Melvins releases I heard. I was totally blown away the first time I heard it. Would also love to see them do Bar-X The Rocking M live, even without the trombone part.
What would a woman that fine want in a big, fat, nasty, greasy, fat, stank, bloated, cheesy-backed, 12-sandwich-eatin' bastard?

Turn around mister, and never trust a girl giving her donuts away for free.

i love the Melvins, but how can you ignore that drumming?

I agree about Dale's drumming. That was one of the first things I noticed about Melvins, other than that huge, heavy, loud sound. It is awesome to see him play along side someone like Dave Lombardo on the Big Band dvd.

speaking of Dale's drumming and of Skin Horse, the beginning part to that song is excellent though they never seem to play it live

bass lines on STAG are so awesome and psychedelic,if you listen to Mark D solo record you'll notice how influential he has been on this album

Yes it's true. Guitars, bass, drums, vocals, ideas, album art, track order, flow, Cottonmouth everything is perfect on this album.

Mark D's album is like Stag B-sides, a good pickup.

Never even knew about it! They made the right choice because doesn't really fit in with Stag.

But I still think they should've left Specimen in. Thanks Stallion.
