i was really hoping that this thing would have groove and ambience.

The Melvins should have got some groovey remixers instead of the gabba/noise merchants they aquired.

WTF is Gabba ?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=my0e7xGmiEQ its quite an amusing genre

That's more like some "happy hardcore" bollocks. Gabber/Gabba is sometimes ferocious distorted beat manipulation,
sometimes just a faster, distorted version of techno. But genre schmenre of course.

Well happy hardcore is basically a commercialised version of gabba so yes you could call it that.

Let's try to avoid catagorisation. Especially when it comes to commercialisations/pale imitations.
However, that would be like calling something like Green Day "punk".

this is what the word "Gabba" brings to my mind anyway. Total destruction, techno-style.

Just based on the 15 second snippets, I can't help but
think this could have been better if they also had the
involvement of a few people like Jack Dangers, Aphex Twin,
Juan Maclean, Sly and Robbie, Richie Hawtin, Chris Carter,
Ralf and Florian, etc mixed in amongst the batch of skeev's
that they got. I will reserve judgement though, and of course
will gladly buy it to support the band.

WTF?   its the MELVINS people.   MELVINS don't groove.

AMAZON features one of the dealiest grooves on the planet.

Green Honey

Yes that Eggnog remix is a bag of wank. Surely the other tracks'll be better.

Buzz said in that interview that he didn't want a typical dancey remix record. To me THAT would be horrifying.
None of the people I mentioned are "typical dancey remix" types.  They're innovators.

How's about we get Justin Timberlake to lay down some harmonies for it too?

That would be horrible. Unless Alec Empire put a trash beat down for him
with some looped samples of the intro to Revolve :P

im just hopin' for something thats not just noise, 'cause if i wanted to listen to noise, id listen to naked city, because their the only band that can really pull it off and make it listenable. i know that melvins can pull it off too, because buzz can get the best feedback tones ever, but i will be happy to say that this band is so much more than that.
