Like I SAID, WHERE'S THE FRIGGIN' TOOLVINS ALBUM when you need one.

That thing would be as deadly as mustard gas!
not being such a big tool fan, I still think a melvins/tool album would be too good for anyones ears. a band like tool needs the melvins. tool (maynard) are so far up their own ass and come off as so serious and pretentious, the melvins lighten them up and help bring them to an enjoyable level.

Man a Melvins/Tool album would be great (Probably). In a way it's surprising it hasnt happened yet. I guess its the Tool boys being lazy gits and tending to vineyards.  :)

Also i feel i must say that when the riff kicks in after the drum off its one of the most bad ass bits in music going.

Just thinking of Tool reminds me of all the kids who used to eat-sleep-and-breath TOOL....and I was always trying to be like, "yeah, but there's this band called the melvins you see....and uh...."

it's like where are all the tool fans NOW? and where's all the new TOOL albums NOW?

seriously man, why did they get so huge of a following, only to have it just vanish into nothing.

for that matter...system of a down...

*faaaaart*

Uh? what?...sorry I was asleep again.

tools output is pathetic. I know its been said many times before but....4-5 years to release one album? too bad it takes them 5 years to make an album that essentially sounds the same as the one before it.
however, Adam Jones guitar tone is amazing and I wish he would tour with the melvins more. I miss those good ol days.

Undertow still sounds great. The rest of the albums are ok.

And this shit is a common occurrence at live shows now.

Maynard James Keenan from Tool screws up

Last time I saw them was on their first leg of the 10,000 days tour. Hearing Flood was great, the rest of the show was ok aka the light show was more interesting. My friends saw them a year or so after that. I passed. Tool played the same setlist, minus a song or two and Maynard failed to hit the notes on almost every song.

I once met Danny Carey at an A Perfect Circle show. He was playing with Pigmy Love Circus as the opening band. He was hanging out at the merch table after the show. When I noticed him, I walked up to him, shook his hand and asked him to sign an old Tool ticket I kept in my wallet. He refused and said he only signed Pigmy Love Circus merch.

I've never seen a Tool show but i get the impression they are (visually) boring as shit. Maynard hides on his raised platform in the dark, whilst Justin and Adam stay rooted to the spot as the overbearing light show goes about its predictable business. Personally i find an over reliance on lights to be a real turn off at a show. It's like its compensating for something else that is missing in either (A) the showmanship or (B) the music. For me seeing a band live is as much about the SEEING as the listening. I dont want to be distracted by 3000 ufo spaceship lights beaming down or giant explosions. Leave that crap to U2 and their stupid glittery Lemon vehicle or whatever it is.

I liked Tool live in 2001.

Maybe it was all those psychedellic drugs I used.

Tool was Endorsed by LSD,  the second and third album for sure.

There hasn't been Any real LSD going around for a Dog's age.

 :(

as for the light show, I guess they don't NEED it, but hey, I guess go for it if you got the cash!
