i disagree. when i first saw the song title i thought it was just a reference, but now i think doing a version of dies irae (not sure why they misspell irae ?) is a weird idea, and i don't think they pull it off, really. i mean, berlioz using part of it in symphonie fantastique, that was amazing... and penderecki, or was it wendy carlos, i don't know, doing it on the shining soundtrack, that was cool too, implicit reference to berlioz and the relation to that plot born out in the shining, etc. ...but i think this version is kinda weak.

Dies Irae was originally a Latin hymn, performed in the days when music for worship wasn't allowed to have instrumentation, and was purely vocal.  I guess the title is supposed to be ironic, seeing as the track is an instrumental.  There's no real music that is supposed to go along with any version of Dies Irae, the only similarity is the lyrics.
